A former McDonald’s corporate chef has just dished the tea on how to make your very own McGriddles from the comfort of your home.
Since its introduction to McDonald’s in 2003, the McGriddle sandwich has seen sweet and savory come together for fast food lovers after the best of both worlds.
The sandwich includes fried bacon, scrambled eggs, and American cheese, all stacked between two maple-flavored pancakes.
Luckily, for fans of the McGriddle, one former corporate McDonald’s chef is back at it again, and this time he’s sharing what to buy if you’re looking to make yourself one at home.

Mike Haracz, who goes by ‘chefmikeharacz‘ on TikTok, took to the social media platform to help users purchase the perfect McGriddles.
“Yesterday I posted the top three items that I could not find a very good dupe for but you, the internet, let me know some info,” Mike began, adding a legal disclaimer to avoid getting into trouble before diving in and sharing his latest find.

“So I had to go to the store and buy these items and I tried them — they are better than a McGriddle… You go to Trader Joe’s and you get these Griddle cake items,” Mike then revealed, showcasing a pack of Trader Joe’s Dutch Griddle Cakes.

According to Mike, microwaving the pancakes results in the closest dupe to McDonald’s McGriddle, however, “They’re better when they’re toasted brown.”
Mike included an image of the exact brand he recommended for recreating the McGriddle.
“If you’re trying to replicate McDonald’s, you microwave them. If you want them even better than what McDonald’s has to offer, you could toast them or do any of the other cooking instructions,” Mike concluded. “Trader Joe’s McGriddles exist and I recommend them.”
With the key ingredient found and only the fillings needing to be added, many excited viewers thanked Mike for his help in recreating popular McDonald’s meals at home; “Oh word, [got to] get these this weekend lol.”
