Pokemon Go is celebrating the Pokemon Horizons series with an event that will include the debut of Tinkatink, Tinkatuff, and Tinkaton, as well as new Egg hatches, Raid bosses, bonuses, and so much more.
Another event focused around Pokemon Horizons is coming to Niantic’s game to celebrate the return of the animated show’s Season 2 – “The Search for Laqua”.
This time around, though, it will include the debut of Gen 9’s Tinkatink and its evolutionary line, as well as new costumed creatures and special appearances of some Pokemon and human characters from the animated series.
Pokemon Horizons event: Date & time
Pokemon Go’s Pokemon Horizons: The Series celebration event will run from Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM until Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time.
Although it will only last one week, players should have enough time to catch and evolve Tinkatink into Tinkaton and get all the rewards from the many Research tasks available.
Pokemon debuts
As mentioned above, the Paldean dual Fairy/Steel-type Metalsmith Pokemon – Tinkatink – will debut in the game along with its evolutions, the hammer masters, Tinkatuff and Tinkaton.
Players who catch Tinkatink can use 25 Candy to evolve it into Tinkatuff and then 100 extra Candy to get Tinkaton.
Additionally, a new costumed Pokemon will be added: Floragato wearing a hat with Liko’s pin. But that’s not all, as this particularly dressed creature can appear as Shiny, too.
Surprise encounters
When taking snapshots during the event, trainers may have a surprise encounter with characters and Pokemon seen in the Pokemon Horizons: The Series.
Wild Pokemon
The following creatures will spawn more frequently in the wild during the event:
- Quagsire
- Shuckle*
- Slugma*
- Nosepass*
- Snorunt*
- Sprigatito*
- Floragato wearing a hat with Liko’s pin*
- Fuecoco*
- Quaxly
- Pawmi
- Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat*
Pokemon marked with an (*) can appear as Shiny.
Raids
Here’s the lineup of bosses that will take over Raids:
1-Star Raids
- Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat*
- Chansey*
- Rockruff*
3-Star Raids
- Charizard*
- Alolan Muk
- Metagross
- Floragato wearing a hat with Liko’s pin*
Eggs
During the Pokemon Horizons celebration, these Pokemon will hatch from 7km Eggs:
- Elekid*
- Hatenna
- Charcadet*
- Tinkatink
Once the event is over, Tinkatink will only appear in 10km Eggs.
Event bonuses
Players will be able to enjoy these bonuses during the whole week the event takes place:
- Team GO Rocket balloons will appear more frequently.
- 1/2 Egg hatch distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat and Shiny Floragato wearing a hat with Liko’s pin.
Featured Attack
The lucky trainers who encounter Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat will get one that knows the Charged Attack Volt Tackle.
Volt Tackle stats
- Trainer battles: 90 power + decreases Defense by one stage
- Gym and Raid battles: 90 power
DEXERTOField Research
Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available for all players who participate in the Pokemon Horizons: The Series celebration.
Those who complete the tasks will earn Stardust and encounters with Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat.
Timed Research
A free Timed Research opportunity will be available for all trainers. Hardcore players who manage to complete it will get XP, Stardust, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
Remember that, as the name says, Timed Research has a limited time. Every task must be completed – and rewards must be claimed – before it expires on April 22, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time.
Paid Timed Research
Trainers can access an event-exclusive Timed Research during the event for US$ 4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency).
The task rewards include:
- x1 Incubator
- An event-themed Avatar pose
- Encounters with Tinkatink
- And more!
THE POKEMON COMPANYThose who wish to can purchase and gift this Paid Timed Research ticket to their friends. However, a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher must be achieved first.
As mentioned above, this Paid Timed Research also expires, so it must be completed before the end of the Pokemon Horizons: The Series celebration event.
PokeStop Showcases
As with most events, PokeStop Showcases will be taking place in different PokeStops, so search for them to enter event-themed competitions.
