YouTuber allegedly banned from Nintendo Store after smashing their Switch 2

A YouTuber ended up allegedly being banned from a Nintendo store after smashing his Nintendo Switch 2 with a hammer in front of the shop.

The Nintendo Switch 2 release has been met with great excitement from fans, especially those looking forward to trying out Mario Kart World. After all, it reportedly sold more in one day than the regular Switch did in the first month.

While many are already flocking to get their hands on the Switch 2, not everyone is fortunate enough or has the luxury of buying one.

So, when a famous YouTuber broke the console in front of people waiting in line near an official Nintendo store, it was only a matter of time before he had to face the consequences.

YouTuber gets banned after breaking Switch 2 on purpose in front of store

On June 5, 2025, Plainrock124 claimed in a post on X that he was banned from a Nintendo store. The YouTuber, well-known for creating content related to destruction videos, wrote, “Not kidding. They said I was the first person that’s banned from the store.”

As seen in his “Bored Smashing—Nintendo Switch 2” video, it all started when he purposely threw his Switch 2 on the ground in front of a Nintendo store in San Francisco during the console’s midnight release.

He then continued using a hammer to smash the Switch 2 to the point that the device had visible cracks on the screen. Not to mention, the Joy-Cons were all getting hammered on the ground as well. And if that’s not enough, he also poured water on them afterwards.

Moments later, after a cop tried to approach him, he said he wanted to get another one. However, just when he was about to step back into the store, an employee told him they were not letting him back in.

Although the employee said he wasn’t banned this time, they mentioned what he previously did was dangerous to customers, and he ended up leaving.

Once the YouTuber stopped recording, however, a part of the video mentioned that his friend had overhead them saying to take a picture of him and that he was the first person banned from the store.
