Yamaha Corporation of America Appoints Sotaro Nishida to Executive Officer and Senior Vice President of Audio

Sotaro Nishida was appointed to the role of Executive Officer and Senior Vice President of Audio at Yamaha Corporation of America (YCA). In this newly created role, Nishida will oversee both the Consumer Audio and Professional Audio departments, expanding the breadth and depth of Yamaha audio solutions available to integrators, audio professionals, and consumers. Sotaro Nishida has a rich and diverse history with Yamaha, having been involved in the company’s mobile and content business, as well as various vertical segments in Latin America, Germany, Japan and the US.

Sotaro Nishida was appointed to the role of Executive Officer and Senior Vice President of Audio at Yamaha Corporation of America (YCA). In this newly created role, Nishida will oversee both the Consumer Audio and Professional Audio departments, expanding the breadth and depth of Yamaha audio solutions available to integrators, audio professionals, and consumers. Sotaro Nishida has a rich and diverse history with Yamaha, having been involved in the company’s mobile and content business, as well as various vertical segments in Latin America, Germany, Japan and the US.
 

Before joining YCA, Nishida was the CEO of Yamaha Unified Communications (YUC) – the subsidiary created in 2018, following the acquisition of Revolabs in 2014, focused on the sales of conferencing system equipment in the United States. In March 2024, Yamaha decided to liquidate the subsidiary and merge its operations with YCA, which assumed sales, marketing, and support responsibilities for unified communications products in the US.

Currently living in Southern California, Nishida has been with Yamaha for over 20 years. Before joining YUC, he worked at Yamaha Europe’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, and handled assignments in Japan and Latin America. Throughout his time at the company, he has been involved with both the Pro Audio Division and the Music Entertainment Division.
