When is Warzone Season 3 Reloaded? Verdansk Ranked Play & everything we know

Warzone Season 3 Reloaded is the next major update for Call of Duty’s battle royale, bringing a new weapon, Ranked Play, and Verdansk map updates.

Verdansk’s return has been a roaring success, with players loving the classic map, increased lobby size, and familiar feel. There’s more content coming soon, thanks to the mid-season update.

We already know some of what’s arriving in Season 3 Reloaded, so here’s everything we know so far.

Warzone Season 3 Reloaded start date

Warzone Season 3 Reloaded is set to start on Thursday, May 1, 2025. These updates are always halfway through the season, and with Season 4 due to arrive on May 29, this is the exact mid-point.

Activision will confirm the official date and reveal everything that’s coming nearer to the time, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Ranked Play returns

Ranked Play finally arrives in Verdansk with the Season 3 Reloaded update. Verdansk didn’t get a competitive mode the first time around, but now it’s back, you’ll be able to grind through the ranks on the classic map.

Like regular Battle Royale, the player count has been increased to 150 players, making the mode a lot more action-packed.

Other modes, including the High Trip LTM, will arrive in the mid-season update, but we’ll know more about these nearer the time.

New weapon

The Ladra SMG arrives in Warzone Season 3 Reloaded, and it’s essentially the Spectre submachine gun from Black Ops 1.

Although it doesn’t have incredible damage, it makes up for it with a blisteringly fast fire rate. Plus, the devs said it has low recoil and can be effective at the mid-range, perhaps making it a great sniper support option.

It’s unlocked through an event in the mid-season, but if you miss out, it will hit the Armory.

Verdansk map updates

Verdansk will get some game-changing updates in the mid-season update, bringing back features and mechanics that were removed with the classic map’s reintegration. Here’s the overview:

  • High-value loot zones
  • Specialist Perk
  • Portable Decontamination Station Field Upgrade
  • Bunker Buster Killstreak
  • Train Station interior opens
  • Train returns
  • Big Game Bounty Contract
  • Recon Contract on the train
  • Exterior ascenders

The Specialist Perk, which gives you every Perk in the game, will be available to purchase from Buy Stations, but the devs teased it’s “also hidden elsewhere” – perhaps in the bunkers, which can’t be opened yet.

The train returns, roaming the map to offer fierce early game fights and fast rotations, and it’ll have the Recon Contract on board. The Stadium interior is also expected to open up in Season 3 Reloaded, but with only Train Station being confirmed so far, perhaps we’ll see it in Season 4 or beyond.

Vertical Ascenders return on the outside of tall buildings (including Stadium), giving players more ways to quickly reach these high places.
