When Fantastic Four is expected to stream on Disney Plus

Fantastic Four will be exclusively available in cinemas when it’s released on July 25, 2025.

Long gone are the days of day-and-date streaming releases and PVOD drops. If you want to watch it sooner rather than later, you’ll need to fork out the money to go to your nearest theater and watch it on the big screen.

If you’re doing that, make sure it’s the biggest screen possible – preferably IMAX, if you have the option, because it’ll reportedly expand whenever Galactus is on screen.

“The world of Fantastic Four is so big, that it naturally lends itself to IMAX,” Shakman said.

“We designed the movie to be entirely in IMAX. You’re going into space, but you’re also in Manhattan, which is a vertical city, and we captured that scale.

“Then you have the largest thing in the universe, and the world adjusts. This movie celebrates the IMAX format, and you’ll feel that on the big screen.”

When is Fantastic Four on Disney Plus?

Fantastic Four is expected to drop on Disney Plus by November 2025 at the latest, but it could start streaming even sooner.

Marvel movies usually come to streaming around 90-100 days after their theatrical release (Deadpool & Wolverine took a bit longer, with 109 days between its release in cinemas and Disney Plus).

Thunderbolts still isn’t available to stream, and that first arrived in cinemas nationwide on May 2, 2025. That means it’s been 80 days, and Marvel still hasn’t released its streaming date.

It could come down to box office performance; if it overperforms, Marvel and Disney will want to keep it in cinemas for longer, but if it’s a flop (which it isn’t projected to be), it could come to streaming sooner.

Don’t expect to see it on Disney Plus any earlier than late October, and prepare to wait until November.

When will Fantastic Four be on digital?

It’s likely you’ll be able to buy or rent Fantastic Four digitally by September 2025.

You won’t need to wait until its Disney Plus release to watch it at home, but if you want to buy or rent the film digitally, Marvel movies tend to be available on-demand two months after their theatrical release

For example, Thunderbolts came to digital exactly 60 days after its theatrical release. Using that timeline, Fantastic Four may drop on digital platforms on September 23, 2025, but this hasn’t been confirmed.

Be warned, though: it isn’t cheap. When Thunderbolts dropped on VOD, it cost $24.99 to buy and $19.99 to rent.
