When does Poker Face Season 2 start? Premiere release schedule on Peacock

Don’t want to wait until Knives Out 3 for another Rian Johnson crime caper? Thankfully, you don’t have to – Poker Face Season 2 is premiering this week.

You’ll likely know Johnson best for the Netflix thriller movie series, poking comedic fun at the whodunnit trope through Daniel Craig’s fictitious sleuther Benoit Blanc. But when he’s not directing those films, he’s been teaming up with Orange is the New Black star Natasha Lyonne for new TV show Poker Face.

In essence, it’s a murder mystery series stylized as a character-driven, case-of-the-week mystery, meaning you never know what you’re going to get. It’s a backwards version of classics like Columbo and Murder, She Wrote, with main character Charlie a casino worker with an ingrained ability to detect lies.

All in all, it makes for pretty tasty viewing. Poker Face Season 2 is ready to kick off with its premiere this week, so here’s when and where you can catch it.

Poker Face Season 2 premiere release date and time

In great news for fans – the first three episodes of Poker Face Season 2 drop on Peacock on May 8, 2025.

Episode 4 onwards will air on a weekly basis after May 8, with 12 episodes making up Season 2 in total. Season 2 will wrap up on July 10, 2025.

We can expect new episodes to appear on the streaming service at 12am PT, which translates to these other time zones:

  • 2am CST
  • 4am Brazil
  • 8am UK
  • 9am Central European Summer Time
  • 12:30pm India Standard Time
  • 4pm China
  • 5pm Australia
  • 7pm New Zealand

Depending on your region, you may need a VPN to watch the Poker Face premiere. Once you have one, just change your location to the right country, sign up for whichever streaming service you prefer, and start streaming.

Season 2 premiere episode runtime

While no official runtime has been confirmed, it stands to reason, episodes of Poker Face Season 2 will be around 45-60 minutes long.

All Season 1 episodes were within the same time range, so it’s likely Season 2 will follow the same pattern.

We’re also working with extra this time around, as Season 1 had 10 episodes, while Season 2 consists of 12.

What will happen in the Poker Face Season 2 premiere?

All we know so far for Season 2 is that Charlie Cale is back to try and crack crime cases armed with an almost supernatural lie-detecting ability, resulting in an “existential road trip.”

In a joint statement prior to the show’s release, Lyonne and Johnson added, “To bring Season 2 to life, we pulled visual inspiration from American 70s cinema, all the stuff we love like Robert Altman, Bob Rafelson, Peter Bogdanovich. But the backbone of this show is TV – the kind of TV we grew up watching, episodic case of the week gems like Columbo and The Rockford Files, and Quantum Leap.

“Each episode is a mini movie, existing in its own world with a unique tone and vibe, featuring an eccentric lot of characters played by a truly gonzo parade of guest stars.”

To up the stakes from last time, Charlie is officially on the lam, with hired cronies shooting at her at any given moment.

Season 2 episode release schedule

  • Season 2 Episode 1: ‘The Game Is a Foot’ – May 8, 2025
    • With the mob on her tail, Charlie Cale still can’t help but take on an investigation into a seemingly innocent death in a friend’s family.
  • Season 2 Episode 2: ‘Last Looks’ – May 8, 2025
    • When her new friend disappears from a film set, Charlie must unearth clues at the family-run funeral home that served as the production’s most recent location.
  • Season 2 Episode 3: ‘Whack-A-Mole’ – May 8, 2025
  • Season 2 Episode 4: ‘The Taste of Human Blood’ – May 15, 2025
  • Season 2 Episode 5: ‘Hometown Hero’ – May 22, 2025
  • Season 2 Episode 6: ‘Sloppy Joseph’ – May 29, 2025
  • Season 2 Episode 7: ‘TBA’ – June 5, 2025
  • Season 2 Episode 8: ‘TBA’ – June 12, 2025
  • Season 2 Episode 9: ‘TBA’ – June 19, 2025
  • Season 2 Episode 10: ‘TBA’ – June 26, 2025
  • Season 2 Episode 11: ‘TBA’ – July 3, 2025
  • Season 2 Episode 12: ‘The End of the Road’ – July 10, 2025

It’s worth noting that Lyonne will also be directing the season finale, which is likely why we already know the title.

How to watch

All episodes of Poker Face Season 2 are streaming exclusively on Peacock.

Plans start at $7.99 per month, or $79.99 per year (plus tax). Annoyingly, the streamer doesn’t offer a free trial.

International fans can’t access Peacock from outside the US, so there’s three choices. Territories like the UK will have other broadcasters picking up the TV show (in that instance Sky), while others will need to wait until Poker Face is globally streaming at a later date.

The third option for now is to use a VPN to access Peacock as suggested above.
