What will be on sale for Prime Day 2024? Check out the deals our shopping editors are hoping for this week

Who’s ready to shop? With Amazon’s two-day Prime Day sales event beginning tomorrow, we’re already champing at the bit to get our hands on the things we want from all of the early deals that are live now. But there are a few items that our editors are especially keen to snag that they’re hoping will go on sale during the big event, like the pet cooling pad that every dog owner needs and the pajamas we dubbed the best PJs for women. We’ve even spotted a few AOL bestsellers — like the drugstore product that’s the secret to Martha Stewart’s glowing skin and the neck light that’s useful for new parents and crafters alike — on sale already, but our editors are eagerly watching to see if those deals drop even further.

To be clear, the below items are not necessarily expected to go on sale for Prime Day. Our editors are purely speculating — with a bit of wishful thinking — that these items will either go on sale or be marked down even more than they are right now, when the Prime Day bonanza begins tomorrow. Strap in because we’ve got tons of suggestions to keep on your radar as early deals begin to unfold on Amazon.

Ring

A video doorbell is an excellent security tool, allowing you to see who’s at your front door whether you’re home or not. It can detect humans, pets, package delivery and more. This Ring Video Doorbell comes with 1080p resolution for a crystal-clear view of your front porch. This model has improved motion detection over previous versions, and you can review video footage for up to 180 days with a Ring Protect Plan. There are multiple setup options, too: Use the built-in rechargeable battery or connect it to existing doorbell wires.

With 1080p resolution, two-way audio and lots of other useful features, this is the one video doorbell to rule them all. It’s a good tool so you can keep an eye on your visitors and your deliveries.

L’Oréal Paris

Martha Stewart’s makeup artist of 10 years said she uses this L’Oreal “glotion” on Stewart after SPF “for dewiness and a smooth canvas for makeup.”

I tested out this L’Oreal Glow Enhancer as part of my beauty routine for several months and found it to be well worth the price, even when not on sale. It’s a lightweight, slightly runny cream lotion that is best applied with a small brush for a smooth, even finish. The lotion has a very gentle illuminating effect in the light.

I found it to be a good option for brightening my skin especially when I didn’t want to wear a full face of makeup. I also used it in place of a stick or powder highlighter, instead applying just a few dots of this lotion to my cheekbones and brow line for a boost of brightness.

fukkuda

You might already have a ton of candles, but do you have a fun electric candle lighter? This flameless lighter is well-reviewed, with more than 10,000 ratings.

The lighter works by using “plasma flameless arc technology,” which works by using targeted energy to light candles, stoves and more without harmful fuels and chemicals. And because it doesn’t run on butane, there’s no need to refill the lighter, ever! It has a large built-in battery capacity to last a long time, but its indicator will let you know when it’s time for a charge. To charge, simply connect it to a USB power source.

Crest

Not only are Crest 3D Whitestrips an AOL reader favorite, but they’re a Prime Day shopper favorite and are usually a top seller year after year. Naturally we’ll be keeping an eye on them this Prime Day to see if they’re worth stocking up on at a discount. (All signs point to yes!)

$30 at Amazon

Nespresso

This is a solid beginner espresso machine. We dubbed it our most versatile pick in our guide to the best single-serve coffee makers of the year because it can brew Nespresso pods and regular ground coffee. It even comes with an Aeroccino milk frother so you can make lattes and cappuccinos.

For $129 for a limited time, this is one of the lowest prices we’ve ever seen it.

$129 at Amazon

Glocusent

It might look silly, but this neck reading light is a great gift for those who have evening hobbies where they need a little bit of extra light, like knitting, cross-stitching, reading or even camping.

Out of over 106,000 reviews, many of them “highly recommend” this neck reading light and say it’s “great for reading without disturbing” their partner in bed.

$18 at Amazon

Crock-Pot

You won’t be a member of the sad desk salad club with one of these electric portable Crock-Pot lunch boxes that’ll ensure you have a hot lunch every day. Reviewers say they “love this little” machine, and that because of its leak proof design it keeps food “nice and hot.” The food storage container and inner liner are dishwasher safe, too.

It’s an AOL reader favorite, and at $30, this is the lowest price we’ve seen it for in a while.

SUTERA

Reviewed by AOL’s own Katelyn Mullen, this stone bath mat is her solution to “the icks” that come from stepping on neglected, soggy bath mats. It’s made of Diatomaceous Earth, a naturally occurring sedimentary rock that is incredibly absorbent — a bonus for Mullen, who says preventing slippery floors is her top priority. “I have two small children, and bath time can be chaos.” We think it’s a great gift idea for anyone who wants to elevate their bathroom into something a bit more luxurious.

AeroGarden

Ien if you don’t have a back garden or a green thumb. This AeroGarden Harvest is a small countertop indoor hydroponic herb garden that even those with brown thumbs will find easy to use. This starter kit includes six seed pods and liquid plant food to set you up for success.

In fact, I used to own this very same AeroGarden and loved how I could easily grow basil, thyme and mint right in my small Brooklyn kitchen. The only reason I no longer have one is because I moved across the pond!

Twelve South

This nifty gadget has two unique uses. It can be used a bit like an old-school headphone splitter, sharing audio between two sets of wireless headphones. It can also be used to Bluetooth connect audio to pretty much any device with a standard 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. Use it on airplanes to connect AirPods to in-flight entertainment, at gyms and more.

$45 at Amazon

Victrola

You could purchase an Amazon Echo Dot, a Sonos One or another type of smart speaker devices, but sometimes simplicity is best. This vintage-inspired radio from Victrola — one of the leading turntable manufacturers of the early 1900s — is Bluetooth compatible, giving you the best of what’s new and old. Use one dial to switch between Bluetooth, AM or FM, another to tone the bass and treble, and another for volume. If you’re a fan of retro technologies, you’ll especially love the satisfying crackle of using the tuner dial to find your favorite station.

$60 at Amazon

TULA

It’s hard to buy makeup and beauty gifts for someone, but what we love about this TULA under-eye brightening balm is that you don’t need to know someone’s complexion number or shade preference since it’s good for every type of skin tone. It goes on with a cooling sensation, and is formulated with skin-loving probiotics to help brighten and refresh tired skin over time.

As a devout user of this eye balm, I also recommend using it like a highlighter, putting just a dab on cheekbones and brows for some extra brightening power.

Silk pillowcases have been a favorite among those with curly hair for a long time, but they’ve been mainstreamed recently as a must-have for beauty lovers and skin care obsessives. Out of more than 47,000 reviewers, many say they “highly recommend” this pillowcase, and that it’s good quality. Choose from over 30 prints and colors.

TheraICE Rx

Everyone gets headaches once in a while, but if you deal with migraines often, you’ll want to invest in this hot and cold therapy migraine relief cap, which we’re hoping goes on sale for Prime Day.

Store it in the freezer, and pull it out when you feel an especially bad headache coming on. It’s light-blocking and compressive, two things every migraine sufferer knows is essential to fighting off a bad one.

$30 at Amazon

Heilala

This vanilla paste is recommended by chefs and pastry cooks the world over. In fact, swapping to it made me ditch watery vanilla extract once and for all. This Prime Day, I’m hoping it goes on sale so I can stock up my pantry before autumn.

Bakers know that what they make is only as good as the ingredients they put into it. More flavorful than your run-of-the-mill vanilla extract, and easier to use than fresh vanilla beans, this paste is an excellent addition to any home baker’s pantry. One jar contains the equivalent of 12 vanilla beans. The texture is thick and syrupy — like a vanilla caviar — and has an almost creamy taste to it. If you’re lucky, your giftee will bake you something delicious with it as a thank you.

$16 at Amazon

Stanley

Only time will tell if these TikTok-famous Stanley water bottles go on sale during Prime Day, but we’re keeping our finger’s crossed.

No matter how much coffee you drink, with this water bottle you can be sure you’re drinking enough water. These 40-ounce containers come in 20 different stylish colors, and come with a lid and straw.

Reviewers say that it’s “worth the money,” making it Amazon’s no. 1 best-seller in the home and kitchen category.

$45 at Amazon

Kopiko

Kopiko is an Indonesian coffee candy that’s popular among coffee drinkers who want to enjoy the flavor of coffee without the trouble of preparing a cup. It has a distinct combination of actual coffee bean extracts and milk that has made it a popular confectionary around the world. And yes, they do have caffeine — about three or four of the candies has about the same amount of caffeine as a shot of espresso.

Amazon reviewers give it 4.7-stars. One five-star reviewer has this to say: “I’ve been seeing this brand coffee candy in a lot of K-dramas so wanted to give it try and WOW it is so good now I am hooked into this thing. It’s also very convenient when you don’t have time to make coffee or drink it it’s easy on the go just anywhere. I keep some in my purse and at work.”

Alexander Del Rossa

We dubbed these our best overall PJs for women in our guide to women’s pajamas, but it’s not hard to see why. I, like more than 2,600 Amazon reviewers, have discovered that stylish and comfortable PJs dont have to cost a fortune. These ones are made of durable satin polyester with just a kiss of Spandex for comfort, but they look and feel like pricey silk.

This Prime Day I’d like to stock up on more pairs if they’re on sale. Choose from an overwhelming 27 colors and prints — the Black and Gray Stripes are a personal favorite. They’re available in sizes XS to 3X.

$40 at Amazon

Eberjey

If you or your giftee prefer soft jersey-knit PJs over silk, satin or bamboo, we recommend Eberjey’s well-reviewed Gisele pajamas. Because they’re made of soft modal fabric with a kiss of stretchy spandex, they’re extremely soft and comfortable — which is what makes them our top choice for giftable women’s PJs. And because they come in a wide range of colors and sizes, you’re sure to find some that your giftee will love.

Eberjey’s PJs tend to go on sale during major sales moments, so we’re hoping to snag some of these if they get marked down on Amazon!

Plus, they’re a favorite of stars like Kylie and Kris Jenner, and Meghan Markle even a monogrammed set on an episode of “Suits” in 2015, according to PageSix.

$138 at Amazon

Ember

For the coffee lover who really hates when their cuppa goes cold, the Ember temperature-control mug is a no brainer. I’m a long-time owner of the original Ember mug (this is the model No. 2) and I love it because it prevents me from having to heat up my drink over and over when I’m having a leisurely morning.

In fact, we ranked this as one of our best heated coffee mugs of the year because it’s “the self-heating mug that made me fall in love with self-heating mugs,” according to our tester Rick Broida.

The charging base keeps your drink warm to your preferred temperature for up to 80 minutes. It comes with an app where you can set temperature preferences, make presets and more. The charging base also works without an app and remembers your last preference settings.

Benevolence LA

It’s both Oprah’s — and my — favorite travel jewelry organizer. I’ve used mine for nearly two years, and it kept me organized when I was practically living out of a suitcase for six months while planning an international move. It holds many pairs of earrings, six rings and at least three necklaces.

Solar Buddies

Parents know that the sunscreen battle is a necessary evil. Whether they’re at the pool or the beach, kids never want to pause their fun and games long enough to reapply when they need to. Getting them to apply it properly themselves is an even bigger challenge.

Cue the Solar Buddy, which we’re keeping a close eye on this Prime Day to see if you can snag it for less.

To use, fill the container with the best sunscreen of your choice, shake the contents towards the roller ball and apply it to your body. The sponge ring will assist with rubbing in the lotion so you don’t have to end up with greasy, sunscreen-coated hands.

It’s become a cult hit among parents who say it’s easy to toss into a beach bag or diaper bag when they’re on-the-go.

SolaWave

Red light therapy uses low wavelength red light to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, scars, acne and redness, according to Dr. Rebecca Marcus, a board-certified dermatologist based in Dallas, who we spoke to about building a skin care routine in your 60s.

The Solawave Radiant Renewal Wand is a red light therapy device that is best used daily when paired with your preferred serums to stimulate collagen, improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and decrease redness and inflammation of the skin.

“Its warming, vibrating properties also help to enhance penetration of active ingredients into the skin,” Dr. Marcus said.

That said, this pricey device rarely goes on sale, which is why our editors are keenly keeping tabs on it in case it gets discounted this Prime Day.

Last year, Jennifer Garner shared with InStyle that Hydro Boost is one of her favorite products.

“I can instantly tell the difference — it just looks fresh and plump and better. There are all these little micro-lines that once I put this on, they go away,” she said. “This is 48 hours of moisture that you’re locking in with one thing, and then I don’t have to worry about it. … I think it’s my favorite product we’ve ever put out.”

She’s been a devout Neutrogena fan over the years. So much so that she became an ambassador for the brand.

Hydro Boost’s main ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which binds water to the skin’s surface to help give you smoother, hydrated, more supple skin. The fast-acting gel moisturizer is also lightweight, oil-free and non-comedogenic, so it’s designed not to clog your pores.

MAGIPEA

Whether you’re a new parent doing midnight feedings or you hate holding up a book while trying to read in bed, this hands-free tablet stand holder is a useful gadget that’ll allow anyone to watch their favorite show or read their current page-turner without needing to use both hands.

Designed with an extra strong clip and flexible long-arm gooseneck that can bend any which way, this device holder and stand can be used with a tablet, phone, Nintendo Switch, iPad, iPhone, Samsung Galaxy Tabs and even a Kindle or your other preferred e-reader, though we recommend sticking to lighter weight devices for the best user experience.

Clip it to your kitchen counter and use it to make following recipes on your phone or tablet easier than ever. Make watching TV on your phone reading your Kindle in bed even more relaxing by clipping it to your headboard. Use it on a balcony or patio table to make reading outside feel extremely luxurious. Pair it with a clicker page-turner and your hands never have to leave the warmth of your bedding again.

Play your favorite radio stations, cue up your favorite album, set timers and reminders or ask how many ounces are in a cup — an Amazon Echo device can do it all. For the senior who’s perhaps living alone for the first time, it’s a great gadget for handling everyday tasks, like setting timers for when the laundry is done and asking what the weather will be like that day. Of course, it’s also a great gift for couples, college students and new moms and dads.

Soup it up by pairing it with smart plugs so they can turn lights and other electrics on and off by voice command — there’s a lot that this tiny tool can do to make life easier around the house.

Neutrogena

This powerful anti-aging moisturizer is consistently recommended by dermatologists thanks to its ingredients and affordable price point. The rich, emollient formula uses hyaluronic acid to lock in hydrating molecules while the retinol works overtime to turn over dull, aging cells and lift up brighter, more youthful-looking cells to the skin’s surface. Remember to only wear a retinol at night and wear a sunscreen the morning after to protect fresh, sensitive skin.

Plus, it has a 4.4-star rating on Amazon among a whopping nearly 50,000 reviewers. One five-star reviewer had this to say: “I have been using this product for about 2 weeks. I have started to see a huge difference in my skin. It feels and looks alive. I’m only 53 but as we get older we lose the elasticity in our skin. This cream is amazing. Add a little vitamin C cream afterwards and your skin will glow.”

Another reviewer said the affordable price point is what drew them in. “I am very young and already noticeably wrinkling,” they said. “I started to use Neutrogena Retinol Face Moisturizer every night after a $100 competitor left me with limited improvement. This works just as well and is much cheaper.”

Sunbeam

When the power goes out, you’ll be ready with this combination nightlight that converts into an emergency flashlight when you need it.

One enthusiastic review put it best when they said: “The thing that makes this plug in light so great is that when power goes out, it stays on,” they wrote. “You can also use it as a flashlight or task light, no batteries needed! I wish I bought these years ago! They are super handy. No more searching around for a flashlight when the power goes out, no more worrying about batteries.”

The BedJet is a favorite for sleeping if you don’t have air conditioning. Basically, it’s a tiny, standalone air conditioner with a tube that connects to a special two-layer top sheet. When it’s on, it blows cool air into the sheet so your bed stays at the optimal temperature all night. There’s a remote control to adjust the temperature and airflow the way you like it. (Bonus: it has a heating function for the winter.)

“How did I ever live without this?” asked a happy sleeper. “I had been stifled with night sweats for years until my friend told me about this and I finally pulled the trigger. Best money I could’ve spent. My Dr recommended one called esleep that was over $1000 but I didn’t want to spend that much. Seriously now my husband and I just fight over who gets to put their feet closest to the fan. We have a queen size bed and I can literally feel cool sheets all night even in our pillow area.”

The Green Pet Shop

Wondering how to keep your pet cool in the extreme heat? With this genius cooling mat, the cooling gel is pressure activated — so there’s no refrigeration or electricity required to cool your pet down. Once they lay on the pad, it gets to work cooling them to the touch to provide immediate relief. When they get up, the cooling gels automatically recharge after 15 minutes of non-use.

The mat is filled with a safe and non-toxic gel that automatically cool when pressure activated. No water, refrigeration, freezer or electricity required to cool you pup down when they need it. Available in sizes XS to XL, the mats can accommodate dog breeds from pint-sized chihuahuas up to bulky Saint Bernards and lanky Great Danes.

“It is definitely not the cheapest option, but it is SO worth the money!” wrote a reviewer who owns a Bernese mountain dog. “I’ve laid on it to test it myself and it is incredibly cold for hours and then takes about 10 minutes of no one on it to “reset” and be cold again. If you have a large, hairy, always hot pup I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product!”

$60 at Amazon

JISULIFE

Designed to be worn around the neck, this battery operated bladeless neck fan provides three speeds of cooling air directly where you need it most on a hot day. The air blasts the back of your neck along your hairline where sweat gathers, instantly cooling you down.

The hands-free design means that you can wear it while doing other tasks — like working, cooking, doing yard work, at a ball game and much, much more. And because it’s designed with a low-noise feature, it means that it keeps you cool and free from distractions — you can even carry on a conversation while wearing it without problems.

Plus, it’s made of a soft silicone material that won’t rub your skin after a long day of wearing it. At just 9 ounces, it’s lightweight enough to all day, no problem. The battery can last anywhere from 4 to 16 hours — depending on your speed setting, of course.

$26 at Walmart

Embr

If you’re the type of person who suffers everyday from hot flashes and overheating, then this handy device might be a godsend. We’re keeping tabs on it this Prime Day since we think it’s a good gift for mom and people who might be deal with hot flashes.

Have you ever been excessively hot but felt better as soon as you splashed your hands and wrists with cooler water? That’s sort of how the Embr Wave works. It rests against the inside of your wrist where you’re the most susceptible to temperature fluctuations and emits a series of either warm or cool sensations using a compact thermoelectric heat pump,. The waves can last from 5 minutes up to 9 hours to keep you comfortable.

The device has a companion app that works on both Android and Apple devices where you can choose your settings and get personalized relief.

“I highly recommend for anyone who feels the heat or cold a little too much during the specific seasons,” wrote one reviewer. “It works as advertised. I haven’t yet discovered all the programs as I am hooked on hitting the cool button as all of a sudden our days are getting hotter and hotter. It normalized the body temperature.”

$299 at Amazon

Breville

Family and friends know that I’ve long been a fan of Breville’s smallest espresso machine, the Bambino, due to its ability to pull a quality espresso shot in a compact size without sacrificing taste. Not only is it easy to use, but it includes single and double-shot features. There’s even an automatic steam wand for milk texturing — though you can use it manually if you’re feeling fancy.

I used to be the proud owner of this very espresso machine — begrudgingly selling it when I moved to the U.K. — but I still like to keep tabs on its price during events like Prime Day, when it can sometimes be on sale.

Pair it with some cute espresso cups, and you’ve got a gift they’ll use for a very, very long time to come.
