What time is The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 4 out?

The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 4 is expected to introduce Isaac and follow Ellie and Dina as they explore Seattle – so, make sure you know exactly what time it drops on HBO and Max.

We’re almost two weeks on from the most traumatic TV moment of 2025: Abby murdering Joel in front of Ellie in Episode 2.

Last week, The Last of Us took a breather to process the loss, with Ellie trying to convince the people of Jackson to send a group to execute Abby. It didn’t work, but an unlikely ally emerged to sneak Ellie and Dina out of the town with plenty of supplies: Seth.

In the closing moments, Ellie and Dina stumbled on the corpses of a group of Seraphites, clearly slain by the WLF. That was very much a sign of things to come – expect more bloodshed in Episode 4.

What will happen in Episode 4?

From the trailer, we know The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 4 will introduce Isaac, the commander of the WLF.

The first seconds of the trailer show Isaac in a FEDRA uniform, presumably before he joined the Wolves, and he meets with a new character played by Alanna Ubach (Euphoria, Ted).

“This first season will be an introduction for the character, and in introducing him… we might get a sense of how he came to be who he is,” Wright told Collider.

“We might take a couple of steps backward before we reintroduce the character as we first see him in the game… however we introduce this character, you can be pretty certain it’s going to be messy.”

The rest of the trailer contains some big teases: Isaac appears to be torturing a Seraphite, Ellie can be seen playing a guitar (I’m betting that it’s ‘Take on Me’), and Ellie and Dina flee from infected in Seattle’s subway tunnels, which is a terrifying sequence straight from the game.
