VTubers join Ironmouse in quitting VShojo amid $500K charity scandal

Multiple VTubers have made the decision to leave VShojo just one day after Ironmouse left the org, alleging they didn’t pay $500,000 owed to The Immune Deficiency Foundation.
On July 21, Ironmouse shocked the streaming world by announcing she was quitting VShojo.
In a scathing YouTube video, the streamer claimed that the VTuber agency owed her money and hadn’t paid The Immune Deficiency Foundation the $500K she made through her record-breaking subathon.
Following Ironmouse’s decision to leave, more creators have publicly announced their departures from VShojo.
VShojo is bleeding VTuber talent following Ironmouse allegations
In a series of posts on X, multiple VTubers who were signed with VShojo revealed they would be quitting as well, with Kuro even claiming they had decided to leave over a week before the Ironmouse revelations.
“I didn’t want to say anything until it’s finalized, but since people keep making assumptions, no I am not staying here. I’ve already submitted a leave contract and had that meeting 11 days ago,” Kuro said.
“In any case, I’m just waiting for the contract to be all fulfilled and done but I guess I’m an indie now.”
Projekt Melody also confirmed she was leaving the org.
“I was an OG talent, put my everything into this comp. But I’m beyond devastated at what happened and I never in a million years thought I’d be saying these words,” she stated.
AmaLee joined in too, revealing she would be terminating her contract with VShojo and would become an independent VTuber.
“Nothing about my content will change, as I was indie for 18 years before signing with VShojo, and I retain my IP. My love goes out to the talents, I wish you all the best. Thank you so much for your continued support as we look toward the future.”
That’s not all, Kson posted a scathing post about VShojo, accusing them of only caring “about money.”
“Looking back at myself saying VShojo is such a great company makes me laugh, it’s just too funny. I’m such a fool for believing convenient lies.”
Kson even went as far as to announce she was quitting during a live stream with the company’s CEO, a man who goes by Makino. She further claimed that she was owed money from as far back as October 2024, with the CEO admitting to knowing several Japanese talents weren’t paid.
This is despite, by his account, VShojo doing well as a company financially. Kson said she wanted to be paid the money she’s owed, and he didn’t have a great answer for her as to how she’d get it.
Makino explained that funds were combined for Japanese and English talent, and that no one gets paid if they don’t have money in that universal wallet. As a result, there’s a chance VShojo doesn’t have the money owed to these VTubers at all, with him claiming that the company would disband entirely if all the talent left.
At the time of writing, VShojo has yet to respond to the allegations or the talent deciding to leave.
