Oreo, a runaway pig from Georgia, needed a police escort get back home on Tuesday afternoon.
Cobb County police officers were called to help “wrangle” the wayward hog, using treats like dog bones and carrots to lure it back to its pen at a home in Marietta, a city about 20 miles northwest of Atlanta.
“Our officers respond to a wide range of calls during a day at work,” according to a Facebook post from the Cobby County Police Department. “Yesterday, Officers Long, Fortner, and Anaya along with Lieutenant Cronin were called upon to help wrangle a wayward pig. ‘Oreo’ was successfully returned to its owner.”
The eight-second clip, which shows an officer telling Oreo to “come here” with a snack in hand, has garnered 45,000 views since it was posted on Wednesday. The department joked that they were more than prepared for any pig joke that may be made in the comments.
Dozens of people have chimed in on the situation in the comments, with some expressing gratitude for the officers while others made pig-related puns.
Eric Smith, Cobb County police spokesperson, told USA TODAY on Thursday that Oreo had escaped its pen twice before officers arrived at the residence and manage to successfully get it back into its owner’s yard.

Oreo isn’t the first and likely won’t be the last pig to escape its pen this year.
About six months ago, a 450-pound pig named Kevin Bacon also escaped from his pen in Wisconsin. He was eventually reunited back with his owner, but it took a couple of apples, tomatoes, carrots, marshmallows and Oreo cookies to get the job done, USA TODAY reported.
Kevin Bacon was initially spotted on security camera footage wandering around a home in Brighton, about 40 miles south of Milwaukee in Wisconsin. He ended up walking right up to Jack Molgaard’s back door, where his wife fed Kevin Bacon some snacks.
Molgaard phoned a farmer friend, who knew which farmer Kevin Bacon belonged to. It took Molgaard’s family a couple hours and multiple treats to lure Kevin Bacon home.
Kevin Bacon, like Oreo, was escorted by police back to his pen. Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office deputies not only helped get Kevin Bacon back on the property, but also snapped a few pictures with the pig, USA TODAY reported.
Kevin Bacon’s owner told Molgaard that his pig was “actually a little lonely, so he was just probably just looking for company,” KKTV reported.
