A TikToker has been accused of scamming fans out of $1M in the form of donations to a domestic violence charity that didn’t exist.
Back in December 2024, TikToker Amy Downs – also known as Slot_7.0 or Slotmachinequeen – was arrested after authorities said she received nearly $1,000,000 in donations for a charity that never existed.
Downs allegedly solicited donations between 2021 and 2024, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office in Athens, Alabama. They were supposed to be for a charity to help domestic violence victims and homeless people.
In videos on TikTok, the woman requested that her followers send funds to her personal PayPal, CashApp, and Venmo accounts. However, authorities allege that Downs had deposited nearly $1M into her personal bank account under the guise of charitable donations.
She is being charged with seven counts of charitable fraud in the first degree and three counts of tax evasion. Downs was placed in jail on a bond of $1.2M, but was bonded out just days later.
Woman accused of scamming TikTok appears in court
Downs appeared in court on Wednesday, April 30, and was given a court-appointed attorney at that time. She still faces all of her charges and is not being held in jail. The next update in her case will be July 23, 2025.
As of writing, Downs’ Slot_7.0 account has been removed from TikTok entirely, but videos of hers have been reposted across the platform.
She’s not the first TikToker to face criminal charges over the years, either. Back in March, Marlena Valez was sentenced to 12 months’ probation for two charges after she shoplifted items from a local Target.
Valez took the items home to create “Target haul” videos, which were just one of the ways she was eventually caught by the police.
