The MCU is casting a new Ghost Rider and 2 actors want to play him

According to a new report, Kevin Feige is currently on the hunt for an actor to play the MCU’s Ghost Rider in Avengers: Doomsday – and two stars have already put themselves forward.
Doomsday is already one of Marvel’s biggest projects ever; it’s expected to have a budget exceeding $400 million, it’s setting up an even larger film (Avengers: Secret Wars), and there are already 27 confirmed characters (with more still to come).
During the latest episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider revealed he’d heard that Marvel is casting the role of Ghost Rider for the movie. Host John Rocha asked if it’d be Nicolas Cage returning as Johnny Blaze, and Sneider said he “assumed” it’d be a new actor as a “search” is ongoing for someone to take on the role.
That leaves one question: who will it be? A few names have been thrown around by fans over the years, but there are two actors that may have a shot.
Norman Reedus and Ryan Gosling want to play Ghost Rider in the MCU
Norman Reedus and Ryan Gosling have both expressed interest in playing Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In 2021, Reedus told ComicBook: “The Ghost Rider conversation has been coming up for years, and yeah, tell them to put me in it. I want to play Ghost Rider.”
A year later, he also told the outlet: “Fingers crossed. I don’t know. There’s been a lot of talk over the last couple years. I do not have an answer for you.”
As for Gosling, he revealed his Ghost Rider aspirations to Josh Horowitz in 2022. The reporter then told Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con, who seemed incredibly keen on the idea.
“Hey man, if Ryan wants to be Ghost Rider,” he said, adding: “Gosling’s unbelievable. Ryan is amazing…I’d love to find a place for him in the MCU. He’s dressed up as Ken on Venice Beach and gets more press than giant movies coming out that weekend. It’s amazing.”
Here’s the thing: Ghost Rider already exists in the MCU (sort of).
The Last of Us star Gabriel Luna played Robbie Reyes in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, and when asked by Screen Rant if he’d be interested in playing him again, he said, “Oh hell yeah.”
