Black Friday 2022 quick facts

  • In recent years, sales have started well before the big day.
  • While it started in the US, the Black Friday sales tradition has since spread out internationally.

Best Black Friday 2022 retailer deals

All the major stores are involved in Black Friday 2022. We’ll keep you posted on the best each one has to offer, but you can peruse the respective selections for yourself via the links to the deal pages of each outlet here:

Black Friday 2022: The 10 most eye-catching deals

We’ve already found some of the best Black Friday 2022 deals that you can take advantage of right now, well before the actual day arrives. You’ll find our full roundup below, but here are some of our absolute favorite picks:

Black Friday 2022: Active deals

Smartphones

OnePlus 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus in Black Friday deals

Eric Zeman / Android Authority

There are a few relatively new flagship smartphones on the market that you’ll want to look out for during the Black Friday sales, as they may get their first or their best discount to date. These include the likes of the Google Pixel 7 Pro, the OnePlus 10 Pro, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. But you’ll also want to keep an eye on the established favorites for unusually large price drops, such as this one on the Galaxy S22 Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus

Excellent display • Great performance • Fantastic software support

The best sofware support on Android phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus sits between the smaller Galaxy S22 and the more feature-packed S22 Ultra. It’s a premium device that outperforms its siblings in a few key areas. The performance is top-notch, the camera system is impressive, and the software support is the best you can get on an Android phone.

Headphones and earbuds

The likes of Samsung, Apple, and Bose have all launched new audio gear in recent months, so you’ll want to keep your eyes on the price of hot properties such as the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) in case they feature in flash sales. But the introduction of new headphones and earbuds means we’ll also likely see new lows on the previous generations, which will usually still be excellent options in their own right. An example would be this new low price on the Sony WH-CH710N.

Sony WH-CH710N

Sony WH-CH710N

Good active noise cancelling • Comfortable padding • Strong Bluetooth connection with AAC and can also be wired

Good active noise cancelling on a budget.

For under $200 this is a great option for anyone that wants good active noise cancelling but doesn’t want to break the bank doing so. While it has plenty of flaws, it’s still a solid pair of headphones overall that I would recommend to anyone with a hard budget.

Tablets and e-readers

iPad Air 5th gen in Black Friday deals

Dhruv Bhutani / Android Authority

Unlike some of the other categories of tech we’ve covered in this rundown, there haven’t been many notable tablets released since the Prime Day sales. But Black Friday is still the best time to upgrade your slate. The Amazon tablets will undoubtedly be on offer and look out for bargains on flagship tablets, such as this Galaxy Tab S8 deal.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8

Fast, smooth performance • Includes S Pen • Excellent display

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is a beautiful blend of design, performance, and flexibility. This is a powerful slate with an excellent widescreen display, an included S Pen, and plenty of extras.

Chromebooks and laptops

Acer Chromebook Spin 714 in Black Friday deals

Eric Zeman / Android Authority

The bigger the purchase, the more you stand to save in the Black Friday sales. But replacing your old laptop or Chromebook certainly need not break the bank. For instance, the Asus Chromebook Flip C433 is 40% off right now, so the already affordable Chromebook is down to its best price ever.

FHD NanoEdge Display • Touchscreen • Snappy performance

A 360-degree hinge laptop with solid specs

This 14-inch Chromebook is a true two-in-one for maximum flexibility, and the specs are solid for the price point.

Smartwatches and fitness trackers

After the holidays, you’re going to need some motivation to get back in the gym or out in the winter air for some exercise, and the easiest way to motivate yourself is with metrics. That’s where a fitness tracker comes in, and you can justify your tech purchasing at the same time. Some of the Black Friday deals make it difficult not to, with a whole host of new wearables guaranteed to be at record-low prices this holiday season. The Fitbit Versa 2 is a prime example, sitting currently at a never-before-seen price.

Fitbit Versa 2

Fitbit Versa 2

OLED display is a nice upgrade • Accurate fitness and health tracking • Sleep tracking/Sleep Score are very useful

The Fitbit Versa 2 is an improvement over the original Versa, Fitbit still has plenty of work to do.

The Fitbit Versa 2 offers a handful of improvements over its predecessor. The AMOLED display is a welcome change, all models come with Fitbit Pay this time around, and it’s a fantastic fitness and health tracker. It’s not perfect, but for under $200, the positives outweigh the negatives here. The Versa 2 provides an overall excellent wearable experience, albeit with some quirks.

Other Black Friday 2022 deal hubs
