No DRAM, But ~ $0.05/GB
The naming of TEAMGROUP’s T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite indicates no DRAM cache onboard but could well also refer to the low price of the SSD. The drive is rated for 7,400MB/s read and 6,400MB/s write speeds, which it managed to slightly beat on The FPS Review’s test bench. The slightly lowered speeds compared drives with a physical cache as opposed to an SLC cache like the T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite sports do lower the synthetic benchmark scores. On the other hand it means a delay of less than a second when loading a game or a save file when you use it in real life.
That makes this drive a great buy for anyone who needs more storage space, as the amount of free space on a drive has a huge impact on speed and spending five cents per gig means you can buy a much larger drive than if you looked at a PCIe Gen 5 SSD or even a Gen 4 with a cache. Behold all
