Tascam has introduced the DR-05XP and DR-07XP, two new portable stereo recorders built upon the strengths of their predecessors. These devices cater to musicians, filmmakers, journalists, and content creators seeking high-quality, low-noise audio recording. With 32-bit float resolution and up to 96 kHz sample rate, they promise distortion-free recordings without concerns over audio levels.
Both models feature built-in microphones that handle sound levels up to 125 dB SPL, ensuring clear recording even in loud environments. The DR-05XP includes omnidirectional condenser microphones to capture sound from all directions, while the DR-07XP offers unidirectional microphones, which can be arranged in AB or XY configurations for flexible stereo imaging.
Designed for convenience, both recorders allow one-handed operation and support SDXC cards up to 512 GB, making them ideal for extended recording sessions. Battery life exceeds 17 hours, ensuring reliability for field recordings. A stereo mini jack enables external microphone or line-level connections, adding further versatility.
These devices double as USB audio interfaces, supporting 2-in/2-out operation via USB-C for seamless integration with digital audio workstations (DAWs) on Windows, macOS, and iOS. They can also function as USB microphones, enhancing their utility for podcasts and voiceovers.
