Streamer rushed to emergency room after Gorilla Glue gets stuck in his eye

Twitch streamer Marlon Garcia was sent to the emergency room after getting Gorilla Glue stuck in his eye — and doctors aren’t certain if it can be saved.
Marlon Lundgren Garcia is a popular streamer on Twitch, where he boasts over 311K followers.
On Tuesday, April 22, the influencer went live wearing an eyepatch over his right eye, claiming he’d gotten into an accident that may have resulted in permanent blindness.
According to Marlon, he woke up one day experiencing redness in his right eye. Figuring he’d let it pass, he waited until the next day, when he had extreme redness and swelling in his left eye to the point that he finally made himself go to Urgent Care.
“It’s been bad bro, to be honest,” he began. “All trolling aside… I woke up one day and my eye was super, super red. I’m not one to go to the doctors, so I said, ‘F**k it, it’ll work itself out.’ That was my left eye.
“It kind of went [away] that day, and I woke up the next day and it was my right eye, and it was fully red. I was like, ‘What the f**k is going on?’ I couldn’t stream because it hurt so much. My eye was just shutting slowly.”
Marlon may have lost the use of his right eye after an accident with Gorilla Glue.
Twitch streamer could lose eye after Gorilla Glue incident
After explaining his situation to a health professional at the clinic, Marlon surmised that he’d likely touched his eye after his hands made contact with Gorilla Glue some days prior — an industrial-grade glue that’s used to bond materials like wood and metal.
He was rushed to see a doctor, who urged him to go to the emergency room, saying that he could go blind if any of the toxins from the glue had gotten into his eye.
Marlon had just moved to the United States from Sweden, a country with universal health care, so he was left completely confused about what to do, making his situation all the more stressful.
At the end of everything, doctors told the streamer that they weren’t certain they’d be able to save his eye. It’s recommended to flush the eye if Gorilla Glue gets into it — and Marlon waited a full 24 hours before going to the urgent care.
“They’re just like, ‘For right now we’re gonna give you this, but we genuinely don’t know if it’s gonna get better or not.’ They couldn’t tell, because it was that bad, pretty much. It is what it is, bro.”
Fans were sympathetic to Marlon, wishing the streamer well as he waits to see improvements in his eye — but he isn’t the only broadcaster to face an ocular injury.
In 2024, popular streamer Yourrage suffered a bloody injury after an axe smashed into his eye while he was chopping wood during a live broadcast. Luckily, his eye was able to be saved, and he continues to stream to this day.
And of course, Gorilla Glue has been responsible for a whole host of viral injuries on its own. In 2021, Tessica Brown became the internet’s favorite meme after accidentally using Gorilla Glue as hairspray.
