Spotify tells you which Superman character you are based on your music taste
Ever wondered which Superman character you are? Of course you have, and Spotify finally has your answer based on the music you listen to.
James Gunn’s Superman has got the new DCU off to a flying start, with a strong performance at the box office and plenty of positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Most importantly, though, it lays a solid foundation for future projects by introducing a cast of likeable and, in some cases, deliberately detestable characters.
But if you were sitting in the theatre questioning which of these colorful metahumans is most like you, Spotify is matching users to a member of the cast based entirely on their listening habits.
How to find out which Superman character you are on Spotify
All you have to do is type “Superman” into the search bar, and you’ll be shown the Superman Official Playlist. Whichever hero or villain is on the thumbnail, that’s the character who aligns most closely with your taste in music.
For example, as someone who tends to stick to the angrier side of things, I was given the aptly dark and moody Engineer — Lex Luthor’s trusted ally, played by Maria Gabriela de Faria. Meanwhile, another Dexerto writer who leans more to pop and soft rock got the much sunnier Eve Teschmacher, portrayed by Sara Sampaio.
The playlist itself is curated by director James Gunn specifically for that character, selecting songs and artists that best fit their personality and backstory. In the case of the Engineer, there’s everything from Jimmy Eat World and All Time Low to Looking Glass and Taylor Swift.
It appears that the songs themselves don’t change based on the user, but it’s still a nice way to delve deeper into these characters and find out which one is most similar to you.
