SOtM Audio is now shipping its sMS-2000 network server and streamer “for true audiophiles”. The ultimate “music computer” with a Linux foundation and a web server interface, the sMS-2000 combines all the greatest components the Korean company has ever developed in a single integrated system. Reflecting over a decade of developments by SOtM, the sMS-2000 runs the company’s Eunhasu OS tailored specifically for high-end audio, and supporting a range of audio playback software, including Roon, MPD, and DLNA, complemented by all the connectivity options anyone can dream of.

SOtM, or Soul Of the Music, originally pioneered computer audio, USB audio cards, network music players, gradually evolving towards today’s hifi-oriented computer audio and network streamer designs. Yet, the audio technology brand from Korea is also synonymous with computer music accessories, offering USB and Ethernet cables designed for audio applications, dedicated power supplies, and even racks for audio components. The company’s catalog is a dream come true for DIY’ers and anyone looking to make things as complicated as possible before enjoying listening to music.

The sMS-2000 network server and streamer is the culmination of the company’s efforts in that front, offering a different layer of enjoyment from high-end digital audio. The flagship network streamer from SOtM Audio, the sMS-2000, is described as “a meticulously crafted streaming solution that embodies SOtM’s uncompromising commitment to sonic excellence. Engineered from the ground up for the most discerning audiophiles, the sMS-2000 is designed to push the boundaries of digital audio playback, delivering sound that is remarkably pure, transparent, and true to the original recording.”

At its core, the sMS-2000 integrates SOtM’s most advanced proprietary technologies and high-end internal components, all working in harmony to eliminate digital noise, enhance timing accuracy, and preserve every detail of the music signal. This means that the SOtM sMS-2000 is a high-end audio solution at an accessible price point for those with a passion for high-quality playback, or even an option for audio professionals in search of a reference-grade source that is flexible and totally configurable.

The integrated sCLK-EX clock module, tX-USBx10G USB host card, and sNI-1G Ethernet card in the sMS-2000 represent the pinnacle of SOtM’s ten years of development to achieve the ultimate sound quality. Additionally, the sMS-2000 features the sPM-ATX100 high-end ATX power supply, and specially engineered ATX power cables to ensure exceptional performance. The core of the sMS-2000 features SOtM’s highly regarded sMB-Q370 motherboard and processor, which the company designed specifically for music computers. All those components, previously available as individual products, are now seamlessly integrated into the sMS-2000, which is available in a black or white chassis, and allows users a choice of i7 or i9 CPUs and DDR4 RAM, supporting up to 48TB and higher storage capacities.

What’s more, the sMS-2000 is equipped with SOtM’s Eunhasu OS, the other essential component for those who like to explore all available options. Eunhasu OS is a specialized, Linux-based operating system developed by SOtM for use in their previous network audio products, such as the sMS-200, sMS-200ultra, and sMS-1000SQ. Its primary function is to provide a web-based graphical user interface (GUI) that allows users to control and configure network music players easily from any PC or smart device connected to the same local network.

From this web-based interface, users can launch and switch between various music player applications such as Roon, Squeezelite, HQPlayer, Shairport, LibreSpot, Logitech Media Server, Music Player Daemon (MPD), and more. The interface also provides access to playback from NAS or internal drives, and external USB storage, and allows integration with high-resolution streaming platforms like Qobuz, TIDAL, and Internet radio. Significantly, Eunhasu OS also allows users to configure multi-zone playback with networked audio devices for synchronized or independent playback in different rooms.

“We believe technical specifications and sound characteristics alone cannot fully convey the value of the sMS-2000. The development of the sMS-2000 is rooted in SOtM’s enduring mission: to bring listeners closer to the music by eliminating all sources of digital noise and distortion,” SOtM states. “From the isolated digital signal paths to the robust mechanical chassis and advanced EMI shielding, every aspect of the system has been optimized to maintain signal purity. The precision clocking system and low-jitter architecture ensure that the music is reproduced exactly as the artist intended — nothing added, nothing taken away.”

“With an obsessive focus on ultra-low-noise architecture, precision clocking, and stable power design, the sMS-2000 represents a new benchmark in high-fidelity streaming. Whether used in a home environment or a studio setting, it offers unmatched sonic purity, dynamic range, and spatial realism — all while maintaining exceptional ease of use and broad compatibility with popular software and network protocols,” the company adds.

SOtM believes the sMS-2000 is a perfect option for professional audio applications, including for mastering and mixing engineers, or high-resolution playback in studio reference systems. The complete – and extensive – specifications – are available in the SOtM website, which also includes support for all the multiple configuration options, and information on the nearest authorized dealers.
