Solo Leveling creators call on fans for help with Season 3 release date

Season 2 had an explosive ending earlier this year, but Solo Leveling Season 3 still hasn’t been greenlit. As far as the creators are concerned, getting it made might come down to the fans.

At the end of last season, you might remember Jinwoo decided to stay on Jeju Island, eliminating all the ants that were left. We’ve still got a bunch of mystery creatures left over who’ve shown up out of the blue, but we’ve got no idea who they are.

On top of this, there’s plenty of questions left unanswered. What does Jinwoo’s dad want? Will Beru overpower him or turn against him? And what is Jinwoo’s next move now he’s reached the 100th level?

Fans might have Solo Leveling: Arise in the meantime, but there’s still no sign of Season 3 on the horizon. Even though we know there’s more manga left to adapt, creators are convinced they need fans’ help.

Solo Leveling creators need fans’ “energy” to get Season 3 release date

Taking part in a Reddit Q&A on the show’s official account, creators Sota Furuhashi and Atsushi Kaneko addressed what we’re all waiting to hear… when is Solo Leveling Season 3 coming?

They wrote “Do you know Dragon Ball’s Genki-dama (Spirit Bomb)? We need your energy!

“If we’re going to make a Season 3, it’s going to take all the support and energy from the fans. I learned that from Akira Toriyama himself! May the great Akira Toriyama Rest in Peace.”

While it’s not the most helpful answer, it confirms we’re no closer to getting a renewal behind the scenes. Crunchyroll’s president, Rahul Purini, is much more hopeful, however.

“We hope so,” he told Deadline about a possible Season 3. “The [series] creators want to work on lot of shows. Anime is really popular, so there’s a lot of demand, and so we have to find the right time to get started on the next season.”

In the meantime, we can make an educated guess at what might happen, should we be so lucky to get the third instalment we want. Most likely, Jinwoo will have an epic showdown against Hwang Dongsoo, the bulking S-Rank Hunter we’ve previously seen threaten Jinwoo without any action.

We can also expect Jinwoo will use Shadow Exchange to arrive where Jinho is being held by Hwang. But as we’ve said, this is all guesswork at the moment.

Solo Leveling Seasons 1-2 are available to stream on Crunchyroll. While we wait for Season 3 confirmation, catch up with more amazing anime content, including shows like Solo Leveling you need to watch, and the most anticipated anime coming up in 2025.
