A solo game developer who offered to include others in his post-game credits via an announcement ended up going viral on social media. Over 200,000 people have since responded.
One indie game that you may have probably never heard of before today is now going viral, but not in the ways you might expect. That game is Dragon’s Chronicles: The Dark Demon King and the Sword of the North Star.
It may not be as popular as the likes of Stardew Valley, and it’s still listed as Coming Soon on Steam, but as spotted by Automaton, its solo developer is set to pull off something that may just break an impressive record in history.
Its solo dev is committed to making the longest credits ever.

Given that indie games usually involve few people, the post-game credits can be rather short. This has led the creator, Takashi Mochibe, to propose a recruitment post on X, looking for people to help fill in the credits.
In the post, he wrote: “I’m making the staff roll for the credits right now, but since the game’s being made by just one person and a few related individuals, I don’t have nearly enough names to fill it in.
“If you are unrelated but okay with having your name listed in the credits, please give this a like. I’ll include everyone. If there are no applicants, I’ll fill it with about 100 fictional Vietnamese names,” he said.
Little did he know the post would eventually go viral, garnering 18.2M views and 226K likes at the time of writing. Those figures are only going up.
In a more recent update, he claimed that 6,000 names had already been added. With the massive amount of staff and 99% of them being “special thanks,” he explained that the ending sequence is “far too short” and that it’s being displayed in a way never seen before.
Still, while that’s the case, the solo developer claimed he will try to stick to his promise and create a two-part video to showcase as many supporters as he can.
For comparison, according to the Guinness World Records site, the longest end credits in a game went to sci-fi platform game Mighty No. 9, with the length being 3 hours 47 minutes 50 seconds due to it featuring every one of the 67,226 Kickstarter backers.
We’ll just have to wait and see if Dragon’s Chronicles can break that record with this insane feat.
