Silent Hill f’s real-life location is utterly bone chilling as locals share photos

Silent Hill f’s real-life location is just as creepy as it is portrayed in the video game, as locals have shared pictures of the rural town on social media.

Silent Hill f doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s already garnering a lot of attention, with the upcoming installment shaping up to be among the scariest yet thanks to a shocking warning we’ve already been sent. Unlike previous titles that took place in Maine, this entry will take you to a rural town called Ebisugaoka, set in the 1960s.

The game’s three-minute trailer has already showcased this location, giving us a closer look at the environments we’ll be exploring. Even before the fog and fleshy abominations took over, the town already looked incredibly eerie.

Ebisugaoka itself is originally inspired by Kanayama, a real town in Japan’s Gifu prefecture. Now, since the trailer was released, a lot of residents from the area have shared IRL photos of the locale – and its real-life counterpart is just as unsettling as you’d think.

Silent Hill f’s location in real life already looks creepy

As first spotted by Automaton, the locals have been posting pictures of various spots in the town and sharing them on social media as they look forward to the game’s release.

One user claimed that Kanayama is their Grandmother’s hometown and instantly recognized the location as soon as they spotted their “usual boring walking route” was turned into a “disturbing and bizarre” landscape in the game.

The first few images they shared may look more modern, but they do still present a somewhat lonely and spooky feeling to the place.

They’ve also uploaded pictures of a real candy store in Kanayama at night. Somehow, there are handprints all over them, which just adds to the uncanny feeling.

“Even though it’s not the world of Silent Hill, come to Kanayama Town, where you can take some disturbing photos,” they wrote, in another post including a set of more pictures.

A different user shared a night-time image of Kanayama, and it looks no less scary than the ones shown before. “Hello, will the giant rocks of Kanayama appear in the game? I used to live there so I’m looking forward to it too,” they wrote.

Silent Hill f has Ryukishi07 involved in the team behind it, who is well-known for his When They Cry novel series that also took place in rural town inspired by a real location in Japan.
