Konami has unleashed a new horrifying reveal trailer for Silent Hill f, giving players a grisly glimpse at the new mainline title. While the blood-soaked trailer delivers plenty of spine-tingling chills, it’s the game’s disclaimer that delivers the most shocking details.
On March 13, 2025, Konami released a three-minute trailer for Silent Hill f, showcasing the game’s eerie setting, main protagonist, and fleshy abominations that stalk the mountain town of Ebisugaoka. As expected from the best Silent Hill games, Silent Hill f promises to deliver a grisly and unsettling atmosphere, offering plenty of scares to those that dare to play it.
Unlike the brilliant Silent Hill 2 remake that took place in the late 1970s/80s, Silent Hill f takes players back to 1960s Japan during the Showa period. It’s here where teenager Shimizu Hinako finds herself fighting for her life as a mysterious fog descends upon her hometown of Ebisugaoka.
However, it’s not just the fog and the horrors that hide within it that players will need to contend with.
Silent Hill f issues shocking disclaimer
Posting on the game’s official website, Konami issued a shocking warning to fans, noting: “This game contains depictions of gender discrimination, child abuse, bullying, drug-induced hallucinations, torture, and graphic violence.”
As for the reasoning behind such a disclaimer, the devs explained that the “game is set in Japan in the 1960s and contains depictions based on the customs and culture of that time.”
Silent Hill f promises to have plenty of unsettling themes.
If that wasn’t unsettling enough, Konami has also warned that should players feel uncomfortable, they recommend they “take a break from playing or speak to someone [they] trust.”
While the Silent Hill series has always had some incredibly dark themes and creepy enemies (we’re looking at you, Pyramid Head), Silent Hill f’s eerie disclaimer is already doing more to creep me out than any reveal trailer ever could.
