When it comes to understanding what will happen in The Way Home Season 4, you gotta look for sources in all different places. One Hallmark episode has already ‘confirmed’ three shocking things.
If I’m being honest, coming up with theories for what will happen in The Way Home is almost more fun than watching episodes themselves. We’ve got about 10 months left of speculating before Season 4 returns in 2026, and the theories will only get wilder from here.
From Casey’s real identity and Sam’s truth to where Jacob has disappeared to, we’re starting to piece together our own answers. However, there’s still a mountain of outstanding questions that defy logic.
Thankfully, a Hallmark episode you might have missed has debunked three of those for us – and one The Way Home Season 4 tidbit is absolutely huge.
Girls Gone Hallmark podcast ‘confirms’ these three The Way Home Season 4 theories
If you haven’t heard of the Girls Gone Hallmark podcast, you need to. Its latest The Way Home episode has just shed light on essential storylines, revealing more about Elliot’s mom’s letter, Vic and Elliot’s relationship, and Landry family dynamics.
Here’s what we know. Firstly, the show will not have any incest or inappropriate relationships, including blood relative relationships. This means existing theories such as Fern being Elliot’s mom cannot be true, crossing a line that no Hallmark episode would actually touch.
Secondly, our panel suggests “perhaps it’s not the whole letter” in regards to Elliot’s mom. As we know, the Season 3 finale saw Elliot’s mom write the note Elliot later reads and leave it in a baby’s crib (surprise! Elliot is the mystery baby), while the half-mystery couple jump in the pond.
She’s also the same girl we saw approach Alice in Episode 9, quoting T.S. Elliot after Evelyn left her during the 1974 timeline. What her note and time travel actually means we don’t yet know, but we’re assuming she’s traveled with an unknown Landry man.
Then there’s Vic and Elliot. Since the finale, there’s arguably a question mark over how the two ended up back together after the finale. In the last shot, Colton finds Elliot and brings him to Del, taking the baby indoors.
However, our podcast confirms Vic is definitely Elliot’s father, ruling out any potential Landry family history on his father’s side.
Arguably, the podcast overlooks a more pressing question relating to these storylines… is Elliot actually telling the truth about his family history?
After Elliot turns up unexpectedly in 1816, he explains Jacob brought him there, having already gone back to the present day.
Except… we never saw Jacob do any such thing. We’re merely believing what Elliot has told us. We saw Jacob in 1816 during the Landry Farm fire, but we never saw him again after. So shouldn’t we assume Elliot is lying here too?
