Hey there, Galaxy Z Flip7! Samsung’s latest flip-foldable may fly under the radar that is the Galaxy Z Fold7, but we’re willing to bet that this one is going to be more popular.
Nothing’s changed with the retail package – you get the phone, a SIM tool, and a USB-C cable. The Flip7 comes in two versions – 12/256GB and 12/512GB. You get a choice of Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and the online exclusive Mint.
The biggest upgrade with this generation of Galaxy Z Flip is the cover screen. It now stretches from end to end to reach 4.1 inches – a big jump from 3.4 inches. Samsung shrunk the bezels and made the phone ever-so-slightly wider and taller to accommodate the new screen. Still, the Galaxy Z Flip7 measures 13.7mm closed, and 6.5mm when opened, compared to 14.9mm/6.9mm on its predecessor.
The inner display also got a notable jump in size – from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches. It’s noticeable.
Back to the cover screen. It’s smarter, too. By default, the Z Flip7’s cover screen is like a big Galaxy Watch – you get widgets and not fully-featured apps. But you can force the phone to let you use all your apps on the screen – go to Samsung Labs, enable all apps on the cover screen, and then download a Galaxy Store app called MultiStar.
Non-optimized apps don’t use the entire cover screen, but it’s worth it just to have them available! Still, Samsung lags behind Motorola in terms of cover screen functionality – The razr 60 Ultra can allow any app on its outer screen, no hacking needed!
Anyway, we’re trying our best to give you reviews of all the phones we have at the office but it will take some time! Kindly, be patient!
