Raising Kanan Season 4 needed an Episode 11 to answer a big question about Breeze

Raising Kanan Season 4 wrapped up with its finale on May 16, but before Season 5 gets underway, a missing Episode 11 should have answered an essential question about Breeze.

In case you missed it, Starz’s binge-worthy TV show ended with Kanan being introduced to drug kingpin Breeze – played by Spider-Man star Shameik Moore – who eventually takes Kanan under his wing. Breeze is a character we’ve never seen before in the franchise, only being mentioned in passing both in Raising Kanan and original series, Power.

Now, he’s come out to play, and that sets some huge things in motion for the now greenlit Season 5. Sadly, it’s going to be the final series, so whatever drama is heading our way is sure to be a spectacular blowout.

But before we find out more about Breeze and Kanan’s future working together, there’s a sticking point – and it arguably would have been perfect for a Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 11.

Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 11 should have addressed where Breeze has been

You’ve probably got this far and are wondering who Breeze even is, and you’ve got good reason to. He’s been a no-show across two separate programs in the franchise, and fans could do with some explanation for where he’s been the whole time.

Given Season 5 is going to dive head-first into the next part of Kanan’s story – building a drug empire with mentor James “Ghost” St. Patrick and Tommy Egan, until Ghost ultimately betrays them and takes over the business himself – we could have benefited from more of Breeze’s backstory.

In a parallel world, a Season 4 Episode 11 would have given us enough detail while still being ready for the next phase in Season 5. Instead, we have to rely on the showrunner’s promise that all outstanding questions will be answered… well, almost.

“I believe that we answer almost all the questions,” Sascha Penn told Variety. “But we don’t answer every question. I think it’s a real emotional journey. It’s a worthy ending to the story that we’ve set out to tell. I don’t think there’s a false step. It all feels genuine, and I also think many surprises will come.

“I think people will be stunned to see how the story ends up. But I hope that everyone feels satisfied. I believe they will. This is not one of those endings that is open to interpretation. I think we put a punctuation point at the end of it, and I think that’s something that was always important to me: telling a complete story.”

While no official release date has been confirmed for Raising Kanan Season 5, we can expect it to air in summer 2026 if it follows the same release schedule.
