Raising Kanan fans left angry as Starz delays Episode 8 until this date

Power Book III is hurtling towards its next season finale, but there’s a problem. Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8 is nowhere to be seen this week, and fans are incredibly frustrated.

Up until this point, the binge-worthy TV show has aired every week since the beginning of March without fail. As of Episode 7, Kanan’s been left looking for O-Cee, Raq and Marvin are desperately looking for answers, and Unique is taking the streets of Queens for himself.

But if you’ve been waiting for the follow-up at its usual time – April 25, if we’re going by its weekly schedule – there’s a snag.

As you might have noticed, Starz has delayed Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8, but thankfully there’s already a new date for when you can actually catch the new TV show.

Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8 is now delayed by a week

Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8, titled ‘Truth of the Matter’, airs May 2, 2025, on Starz at 8pm ET.

Annoyingly, there’s no official reason why Episode 8 has been pushed on a week, and according to socials, the show is “on pause.” However, this is a trend we’ve been seeing with popular TV shows across multiple streamers and broadcasters.

As of writing, 9-1-1 Season 8 and Chicago PD Season 12 both have a week’s worth of delays too, with neither broadcaster giving a reason why.

Common sense tells us that in typical circumstances, this is to make way for sports or live event coverage. However, Starz is a standalone streaming service, meaning it can basically do what it wants whenever it wants. Instead, it could be down to other content being released at the same time or Raising Kanan Season 4 needed to finish on a specific date.

Regardless, fans are fuming that they’re having to wait longer than originally thought.

“I f**king hate the stupid break weeks. So damn dumb,” one posted on Reddit, with a second agreeing, “This is such a joke. We wait years for 10 episodes then they have the nerve to pause it in the middle for god knows what reason. I’m starting to get tired of Power.”

A third fan mused, “This is probably so Starz gets their money’s worth. If folks only subscribe to Starz for Power and there are 10 eps with no breaks, they started their sub in early March and would finish in the first week of May, giving people many days to cancel before they are charged an extra month.”

When Season 4 Episode 8 does hit Starz, we’re in for an intense one. While Raq’s set on “changing the game all over again,” her enemies are set to “make her pay.” A gun is seen shooting out the windows of a car in the final trailer shot, but we don’t know who is shooting… or if anyone is left alive in the car.

The drama is about to hit Kanan like a truck, putting two and two together that Raq was the person responsible for Fame’s death. She’s got her eye on “getting back in the big leagues,” but at what cost?
