After a very long absence from Pokemon Go, Mega Kangaskhan is ready to take its spot as a Mega Raid boss with a new Charged Move on a special day dedicated to celebrating its sheer power.
Almost all Mega Evolutions are part of Niantic’s game by now. This means that the Pokemon featured will take longer to reappear as the rotation pool keeps getting bigger and bigger.
Mega Kangaskhan was last seen as a Mega Raid boss over eight months ago. So now, it will return to Pokemon Go in a Raid Day filled with bonuses, rewards, and a new learned Charged Move.
Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day: Date & time
The Pokemon Go Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day event will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM local time.
During those three hours, the featured Mega Evolution will take over all Mega Raids, offering players plenty of chances to defeat and catch it.
Featured Attack
To celebrate its Raid Day, the Mega Kangaskhan encountered in Raid battles will know the Normal-type Charged Move Stomp. This means the regular Kangaskhan players’ catch will also have the attack.
Stomp stats
- Trainer battles: 55 power
- Gym and Raid battles: 50 power
Event bonuses
Here are all the bonuses that will be active during the Raid Day:
- Remote Raid Pass limit increased to 20 from May 2, 2025, at 5:00 PM until May 3, 2025, at 8:00 PM PDT.
- Receive up to five additional Raid Passes for free by spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a total of six).
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Kangaskhan from Mega Raids.
Event ticket
Players who want to get extra bonuses and items can purchase the event ticket for US$ 4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) from the in-game store. The paid ticket includes:
- Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs for a daily total of 14.
- Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid battles.
- 50% more XP from Raid battles.
- x2 Stardust from Raid battles.
DEXERTOThese bonuses will be active during the three hours the Raid Day lasts, though the ticket will stay in the shop up until one hour before the event ends on May 3, 2025, at 4:00 PM local time.
Players can purchase and gift event tickets to any of their Pokemon Go friends. However, to do so, first, they must achieve a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.
Timed Research
A free Timed Research opportunity will be available during Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day, and those who complete the tasks can earn:
- x10,000 Stardust
- x1,000 additional Stardust for completing a Raid battle for a total of 2,000 Stardust or 3,000 Stardust for ticket holders
- And more!
Remember that, as the name suggests, the Timed Research has a limited time. Every task must be completed – and rewards must be claimed – before it expires at the end of the event.
