Pre-orders for Pokemon TCG‘s massively hyped Destined Rivals expansion may have already sold out, but don’t despair if you missed the window – there’s still a chance.
Following the set’s official reveal on March 21, the Pokemon Center pre-orders opened on March 24. Although many players and collectors were able to secure an Elite Trainer or booster box, many left empty-handed after getting placed in a never-ending queue system.
The entire product line sold out immediately, with scalpers and resellers instantly relisting their purchases at massively inflated prices on eBay despite the May 30 release day still being over two months away.
Amid all of this frustration, however, there is some semblance of a silver lining.
Destined Rivals restocks are coming
Per the Pokemon Center’s FAQ support page for Destined Rivals, more stock of the expansion is confirmed to be on the way, albeit at an unspecified date.
“At this time, we do not have any information on when this item will be restocked but more inventory of this product will become available later this year,” the FAQ states, adding, “Announcements and information regarding upcoming products will be announced on our website, newsletter or social media feeds.”
Themed around Team Rocket and its villainous leader Giovanni, Destined Rivals is an amalgamation of Japan’s Heat Wave Arena and Glory of Team Rocket sets and contains more than 240 new cards.
While confirmation of restocks is always reassuring for anyone who missed the first wave, it remains to be seen if reprints can meet huge demand. Even with the promise of more stock locked in, scalpers continue to inflate prices for January 2025’s Prismatic Evolutions special set.
