Peak Design has officially revealed its new Pro Tripod line, a trio of professional-grade camera tripods that promise industry-leading stability, elegant portability, and video-friendly innovation. Unveiled in collaboration with renowned adventure photographer and filmmaker Jimmy Chin, the Pro Tripod series represents a significant evolution from the company’s critically acclaimed Travel Tripod, with enhancements tailored to the needs of demanding creators.

The new lineup consists of the Pro Lite, Pro, and Pro Tall Tripods, each offering increasing levels of height, stability, and load-bearing capacity while maintaining the compact form factor that made the original Travel Tripod a standout. At the top end, the Pro Tall model extends up to a towering 197.4cm and supports up to 18.1kg (40lb), making it an ideal choice for tall users or heavier video rigs. All models feature a CNC-machined hub and refined flanged centre column, boosting both rigidity and user confidence in challenging environments.
A standout feature of the range is the re-engineered Pro Ball Head, now with integrated fluid panning and 15-degree articulation even when the centre column is stowed. When combined with the new Tilt Mod accessory—sold separately—photographers can easily transform the ball head into a fluid pan and tilt system, allowing seamless transitions between stills and video without switching equipment.
The Pro Tripod’s user-centric design includes reworked leg cams for faster deployment, ergonomic angle adjusters, and a revised quick-lock system for faster, more secure camera mounting. Each tripod also houses a fold-out hex multitool and Peak Design’s signature mobile mount inside the centre column, along with a new weatherproof carry sleeve for added durability and convenience.
