Overwatch 2 Street Fighter 6 crossover: Skins, heroes, release date & more

Overwatch 2’s Street Fighter 6 crossover event has officially been announced, and it features even more skins than usual for an OW collab.

Blizzard has been going all-in on crossover events as of late, with Overwatch having skins for everything from anime to K-pop groups. It’s at the point where the Diablo series is also getting in on it with a Berserk content drop.

However, Street Fighter is one of the most well-known gaming IPs out there. The series has been around for decades and essentially kickstarted the fighting game genre.

And, fortunately for Street Fighter fans, this event is going all in and bringing more skins than usual. 8 heroes are getting their own unique cosmetics.

Which Overwatch 2 heroes are getting Street Fighter skins?

The 8 heroes getting skins were revealed in an animated trailer shown at Evo Japan, one of the biggest fighting game tournaments of the year.

Here’s who you can expect to see in-game along with which SF character each hero’s skin represents:

  • Hanzo: Ryu
  • Winston: Blanka
  • Soldier 76: Guile
  • Sigma: M. Bison
  • Widowmaker: Cammy
  • Kiriko: Juri
  • Juno: Chun Li
  • Zenyatta: Dhalsim

Aside from each character visually looking like they’ve been ripped straight out of Street Fighter 6, each character also gets a big splash of color when they attack, similar to the Drive Rush and Drive Impact mechanics.

It’s not clear whether these skins come with any additional VFX or if this is just exclusive to the trailer, but it’s a nod to the source material nonetheless. These devs clearly know the game, as shown by Associate Game Director Alec Dawson competing at the event right now.

Overwatch 2 Street Fighter crossover release date

The Overwatch 2 Street Fighter crossover begins on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, around the same time as the mid-season update for Season 16.

It’s also not yet known whether or not this event is purely a package of cosmetics players can purchase, or if it’ll have some other in-game goodies players can earn.

That’s all we know about Overwatch 2’s Street Fighter crossover for now, but we’ll be sure to update when we have more information.
