Overwatch 2 & Sea of Thieves are crossing over but not how you’d expect
Overwatch 2 and Sea of Thieves are getting an unexpected crossover and here’s everything you need to know about it.
Overwatch 2 has had its fair share of crossovers throughout the years. Titles like My Hero Academia, One Punch Man, and Cowboy Bebop were all available in the game at one point or another, giving some of the heroes in the roster quite the makeover fitting to characters in these popular franchises.
Though that’s the case, Blizzard also doesn’t shy away from collaborating with several brands, and even with the K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM.
Now, in a surprising turn of events, the hero shooter will also be crossing over with another video game, one outside of Blizzard’s umbrella. Sea of Thieves is next in line – but not in a way you’d think.
Overwatch 2 x Sea of Thieves collab explained
Not to be confused with previous Overwatch 2 collabs, the one with Sea of Thieves doesn’t exactly add a new skin or fresh cosmetics to the multiplayer shooter.
Rather, Sea of Thieves will be on the receiving end of this crossover, thanks to an exclusive cosmetic inspired by Overwatch 2.
You’ll be able to show your love for Overwatch 2 and other Battle.net games by customizing your ship with these logos.
On April 15, 2025, Blizzard announced in a post on X that the Sea of Thieves will be making its debut on Battle.net on May 22, 2025.
As a nod to the game’s arrival on the platform, players who pre-purchase the Premium Edition will be able to grab a plethora of exclusive in-game loot in Sea of Thieves, including “exclusive Blizzard-themed sails.”
These unique sails will essentially feature logos of different games in Battle.net, such as World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, and Diablo 4. There’ll even be a Battle.net logo included.
The Premium Edition itself costs $59.99 USD, and it will allow you to have access to all these cosmetics as well as other additions:
- Dire Dark Warsmith ship decorations
- Dire Dark Warsmith ship crest
- Dire Dark Warsmith costume set
- Five Blizzard-themed ship sails
- Sails of Warriors’ Will – inspired by Battle.net
- Sails of Heroes’ Horizon – inspired by Overwatch
- Sails of Fabled Feuds – inspired by World of Warcraft
- Sails of Binding Bounty – inspired by Hearthstone
- Sails of Demonic Devotion – inspired by Diablo
- 1,000 Ancient Coins
- 6 days of Early Access
- Season 16 Plunder Pass
Meanwhile, those who are just interested in the game and aren’t too keen on getting all the rewards can also opt to pre-order the game for $39.99 USD or the Deluxe Edition for $49.99 USD. The latter isn’t as expensive as the Premium Edition, but it includes fewer bonus cosmetics.
