Overwatch 2 players are already breaking Freja just hours after release

Overwatch 2 just released a temporary play test for the next DPS character, Freja, but players are already finding ways to break her.
Freja is Overwatch 2’s 17th Damage hero in the game, and just like with most new characters in Overwatch 2, she’s getting a temporary play test for players to mess around with before her official release in Season 16.
Intended to be a high skill floor character, Freja rewards landing your shots and precise aim with her crossbow that has the potential to deal explosive damage. Combined with her crazy movement abilities, players are already discovering techniques with her that might break the game when she’s officially released.
Freja is shaping up to be a powerful hero in Overwatch 2
Freja’s kit has been publicly available for some time since her debut during the Overwatch Spotlight event, but for those unaware, most of Freja’s damage comes from her right-click. Her right-click fires a bolt action sticky grenade that deals damage on impact and explodes after a short while. allowing her to clean up with her primary fire that rapidly shoots arrows at the enemy team.
Freja also has some wicked movement abilities, with multiple dashes that allow her to lunge in a direction similar to Hanzo’s lunge as well as a vertical boost that allows her to get some vertical mobility. Now, with her kit available to the public, players are discovering some insane tech, giving her great potential as a top-tier DPS.
GetQuakedOn, a content creator for Overwatch 2, discovered a safe way to peek enemies utilizing her vertical mobility. Her right-click slows Freja down briefly when aiming, but you can combine her slowdown with her movement abilities to create some fun strategies.
Another user on X discovered that Freja can effectively gain unlimited ammo on her Primary Fire. One of her Major Perks, Relentless Barrage, gives her four ammo when landing a direct hit with her right-click ability. This allows her to potentially gain infinite ammunition which makes her a potent tank shredder.
Finally, one user discovered a way to chain multiple right-clicks together by taking advantage of her abilities and Perks. When Freja uses her lunge, she automatically reloads her right-click. In addition, one of her Perks gives her an extra lunge when using her vertical boost. When combining the two, players can gain an obscene amount of right-clicks to deal some explosive damage.
This tech was discovered mere hours after her unofficial release, so there’s plenty of new potential strategies on the horizon. Freja is playable until March 24 in most modes except Competitive, so you have plenty of time to master her kit ahead of her official release in Season 16.
