ON1 has announced ON1 Photo RAW 2025, the next-generation version of its all-in-one photo editor.
ON1 Photo RAW 2025 introduces numerous new features, including powerful generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools that enhance the content-aware capabilities of the app’s crop and new Generative Erase tools. These AI-powered improvements enable photographers to realistically extend their images and erase distracting elements, even large ones.
Further, ON1 Photo RAW 2025 includes a new AI-powered Depth Masks feature, which uses AI models to determine the depth within a scene. This lets photographers blend or adjust parts of an image based on the depth of objects in the scene, including through existing tools like lens blur.
AI also powers new image enhancement tools, including automatic detection and removal of common distractions in photos, like sensor dust spots and power lines.
However, there’s more to ON1 Photo RAW 2025 than new AI tools. The latest release also improves the software’s color editing tools through two new filters. The first, Edit Color, promises improved control over the hue, saturation, and brightness of specific color ranges. The new Match Color filter lets photographers apply the color from one image to another, enabling swift style and look mimicry.
As an all-in-one photo editor, ON1 Photo RAW 2025 also includes powerful organizational tools, making it a true Adobe Lightroom competitor. In the new version, ON1 has added a Target Album feature, allowing users to quickly add photos to a specific album with a shortcut key, which the company says will help streamline sorting through extensive collections of images and improve overall asset management. ON1 Photo RAW 2025 also adds stacking, a handy way to organize brackets, bursts, and other grouped shots into a single stack, which cleans up a user’s library.
While all the features above will be included in the software when it launches, ON1 also shared some details for what photographers can expect in future releases, including Generative Replace, a new Super Select AI tool to make more precise selections of objects with a single click, and Face Restoration.
Photographers can also fine-tune the default colors their cameras produce using a new Edit Camera Profiles dialog. “This feature will be great for those looking to adjust certain color nuances, like making reds more saturated or shifting greens to enhance foliage,” ON1 explains.
Rounding out the other enhancements arriving post-launch is an improved Perspective Correction toolkit. This will make it simpler to adjust keystoning and use AI to infill pixels in corners created following these adjustments.
