Nikon Z5 II Will Be Announced in April (Not May)

There have been ongoing rumors about the Nikon Z5 II announcement, initially expected in May 2025. However, according to how2fly, a reliable source for camera leaks, the launch is now set for April instead.

The current Nikon Z5, a Z-mount full-frame mirrorless camera, was introduced in August 2020 as an entry-level full-frame option. Since then, Nikon’s lineup has evolved, with the Z6 III becoming a hybrid camera with enhanced video features and a higher price point. This raises the question: Will the Z5 II fill the gap left by the Z6/Z6II, or will it remain an entry-level model?

While official specs and pricing remain unknown, there is speculation about whether the Z5 II will feature the same sensor and EXPEED 7 processor as the Zf or introduce other improvements. Interestingly, Nikon’s annual financial report is scheduled for May 8, making an April announcement strategically plausible.

How2fly, known for accurate leaks—especially with Tamron and some Nikon-related information—has a solid track record. The only remaining question is whether the previous May rumor referred to a regional difference or the actual release date. Either way, an April announcement now seems highly likely.
