A brand new Resident Evil game has just been announced, and no, it’s not Resident Evil Requiem, or Resident Evil 10 (we’re not that far ahead yet). Instead, it’s a brand new strategy RTS game: Resident Evil Survival Unit.
It’s quickly becoming the year of Resident Evil, with Requiem being announced and getting a release date for early 2026 in a surprising reveal. However, that’s not the next Resi game you’ll be able to dive into. Instead, fans of the horror adventure will be able to explore Resident Evil Survival Unit, a recently announced adventure co-developed by Aniplex Inc. and Joycity Corporation.
The catch, this is a mobile game. While it does mean you won’t be able to enjoy it on your PC or console, you can play anywhere, so it’s not all that bad.
Resident Evil Survival Unit to be revealed soon
As revealed in a press release, Resident Evil Survival Unit will be available across mobile devices, on both Android and iOS.
It’s being co-developed by Aniplex Inc. and Joycity Corporation, the names behind games like Gunship Battle and Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War. Don’t worry, though, as they’re working in “close collaboration with Capcom to ensure authenticity and quality” to produce an RTS “designed to appeal to both long-time fans and new players.”
What the game will look like when it releases have yet to be revealed, but fear not, a showcase has been planned for July 10 at 3 pm PDT (11 pm BST, 5 pm CDT, 6 pm EDT), where we expect to see plenty of gameplay, and a trailer to showcase what this RTS will look like on our phones.
What we do know is that the game seems to have something to do with Umbrella Corp, as seen on the sign in the image.
So, if your Resi hunger wasn’t satiated by the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, then hopefully Resident Evil Survival Unit will help tide you over until Requiem’s release in February 2026.
