The second trailer for GTA 6 went live suddenly on May 6, 2025. In just 24 hours, it reportedly became the fastest-growing video launch of any kind in the history of the internet.
There’s no denying it, GTA 6 is one of the most hotly anticipated entertainment products of all time. It’s been 12 years since GTA 5 hit store shelves, leaving fans clamoring for every scrap of information they can get on the upcoming sequel.
While the very first trailer premiered back in 2023 and sent its own shockwaves throughout the industry, the follow-up has now made its own history. According to Rockstar Games themselves, Trailer 2 has set a new high bar as the fastest-growing video on the internet.
Trumping all other landmark moments like massive popular Marvel movie trailer releases, the second GTA 6 trailer is claimed to have been viewed over 475 million times across all social media in its first 24 hours.

In an exclusive comment provided to The Hollywood Reporter, Rockstar claimed its follow-up GTA 6 trailer was seen over 475 million times in its first 24 hours. This factors in viewership across all platforms including X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and many others.
It’s worth noting, when the first trailer went live, it remained exclusive to YouTube for a brief window following some early leaks. As a result, it didn’t quite have the same immediate impact. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the initial footage recorded 93 million views in its first 24 hours by comparison.
With Trailer 2 more than quadrupling the first, it now reportedly sits atop the entire entertainment industry as the fastest-growing video ever.
Previously, the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer held the record with 365 million views in its first 24 hours. No other video game has come close to this mark.
