A streamer has gone viral after discovering that a small item in NBA 2K actually costs way more than its real-life counterpart. Seriously.
Anyone who has ever played NBA 2K knows that there are microtransactions galore on offer. Not only do you need VC to upgrade your player’s skills, but you also need it to deck them out in fresh clothing.
The City can become a bit of a fashion show, especially as those more dedicated players get to show off exclusive items that no one else has. However, there are plenty of clothing options that everyone has access to. Well, if you’ve got the VC to hand over anyway.
One of the most popular items is the durag, which you’ll need at least 13,000 VC, or $5 in real terms. Its price has been a talking point for years, and another player has gone viral over it.

That’s right, Twitch streamer maurinnw was left baffled after realizing that the price of a durag in 2K is actually more expensive than getting one from Amazon or a store.
“Why the f*ck we not talking about this s*it bro? Nah, this s*it racist bro,” he said. “We gotta call this s*it something so they can stop. Everybody should be mad about this. This is a war crime. What the f*ck?
“A durag in 2K25 costs more than a f**king durag in real life. They capitalizing off of us, bro. They just doing what the f*ck they wanna do!”
The clip has been reposted by a number of social media accounts, including FearBuck, with that getting around 2 million views.
With it proving so popular, maurinnw urged 2K Sports to take notice and lower the price. However, it has been a talking point for years and they still haven’t budged.
