Monster Hunter Wilds is missing one feature that made World & Rise so special

Monster Hunter Wilds is almost perfect – hell, my review had plenty of good things to say about Capcom’s latest beast-slaying game. Not only does it feature the best combat I’ve ever experienced from the series, but its roster of bloodthirsty beasts is exceptional.
While there are only 29 monsters, with more to come in future updates, each one of them feels incredibly unique. This uniqueness is further accentuated by Wilds’ amazing weapons and armor sets.
From the battle princess vibes of Lala Barina to the stocky Viking armor of Arkveld, there are so many cool sets that choosing just one to rock is tricky. The devs have even done some spring cleaning when it comes to the game’s weapon designs, throwing out the boring bony weapons that dominated Monster Hunter World.
Fortunately, players can use the layered armor system to kit their Hunter out in their favorite drip. However, there’s one feature that desperately needs to be added.
Monster Hunter Wilds is missing major fashion feature
Monster Hunter Wilds has some amazing weapon and armor designs.
As you might have guessed, I’m talking about layered weapons. While both Monster Hunter World and Rise added layered weapons in their Iceborne/Sunbreak expansions, Wilds has so many amazing weapon designs that I need this feature right now.
This is especially true given that Artian weapons dominate every endgame set. While these special weapons are the most powerful options for Hunters looking to maximize their DPS, they’re, well, also the most boring-looking.
Sure, the green jade designs aren’t the worst in the world, but they pale in comparison to the more rugged look of the Wilds’ scaly and toothy counterparts. After all, who doesn’t want to continue taking down monolithic monsters with something as edgy and cool as the Dusterstolz? It even has a cool name!
Hell, we have layered armor that lets us get dripped out in the finest scaly skirts and tasteful trousers, but where’s the love for the layered weapons? Come on, Capcom, make it happen!
