Marvel Rivals quietly “buffs” male heroes in Season 2 update

Marvel Rivals‘ new Season 2 update dropped, and let’s just say – everyone’s cheeks mysteriously gained some gravitational pull.
The game has already been accused of leaning a bit too far into making its characters attractive. We’re talking caked-up Venom, the Malice Invisible Woman, and Emma Frost with thighs that could crush a car.
But some heroes were missing out on the fun; namely, Captain America and Wolverine left players wondering why they have a “negative ass.”
Now, Season 2’s here, and suddenly all characters have been caked up.
Marvel Rivals Season 2 brings one big change to hero design
Yes, the Season 2 update cakes up nearly every character. Even the default skins got subtle upgrades in the cheeks department. It’s not even a pay-to-win situation.
A player recently ran side-by-side comparisons of old models and new ones. The results are clear: Severe cheek inflation for Bucky, Wolverine, Moon Knight, Star Lord, and Mr. Fantastic. It’s even worse for Magik and Psylocke’s X-Suit outfits.
“The devs are just doing analysis of what gets upvotes in this subreddit.” Honestly, that tracks.
The changes are comically subtle, too. Another fan said, “What gets me is it’s so subtle. Like a dude was really messing with these cheek sizes, trying to get it f*cking perfect. What a fine craftsman.”
Others were less subtle in their observations: “Magik got CAKED up. Ain’t no way her default skin’s ass is that huge.” And perhaps most telling, “Am I going crazy or did Netease have the X-suit skins make their assets even bigger?”
This is something players spotted near launch, and they’ve only leaned into it further. Marvel Rivals has fully embraced the cake. There’s cake in the battle pass. There’s cake in the free skins. And with more heroes on the way, the question is how far will this go?
One thing is for sure, though: the devs know exactly what they’re doing.
