One Marvel Rivals player has created a “fantastic” concept for a new character progression rank above Lord and it needs to happen.
Marvel Rivals rewards players for grinding a character consistently thanks to its progression system. The more often and longer you play a particular hero, the faster you’ll level up their character rank in-game.
Currently, the highest character progression rank is called Lord, where you get to earn a unique icon that replaces your default avatar.
Since there’s no other rank after Lord, reaching this point is equivalent to essentially completing that character’s progression. However, one user has designed a new rank concept called Deity to keep things even more interesting.

To a lot of players, hitting Lord is, of course, an achievement that’s like no other. But if you’re like those who have already unlocked multiple Lords and even have the icons of almost all the characters on the roster, it’s understandable you’d want something more to show your dedication to the characters.
One fan on Reddit has shared their concept of an additional Deity rank that comes after Lord in a Reddit thread. What makes this different is that instead of getting an avatar, reaching this particular rank would reward players with a title unique to that hero.
Many players have jumped in the comments to share their thoughts, and a lot of them think this would be a neat addition.
“There are only four titles in the game, and this is the most logical and exciting way to add more. I love it!” wrote one user.
“This is a FANTASTIC idea,” praised a different user. “And would certainly give something a bit more tangible than a different icon. Some icons are so whack, too; Wolverine’s claws are missing and cropped in his, and Human Torch’s just looks flipped horizontally.
“Honestly, them adding like a god rank or something would be dope,” one chimed in.
Meanwhile, others have also suggested that this rank should also include a skin. While the new rank idea is exciting to many, however, some players were worried this would just lead to an instant target ban.
