After a bout of matchmaking errors forced Marvel Rivals players into long loading times and an inability to join games, Netease has offered an apology to the community, as well as some free rewards.
On February 25, 2025, Marvel Rivals was struck with some major server errors, with thousands of players reporting an Operation Frequency Too High error and revealing that it’s preventing them from joining matches or increasing the loading time for their lobbies.
However, Netease has now apologized for the “inconvenience” revealing that the issue has been solved and that the matchmaking system is operating correctly.
Along with this apology, the developers are offering a reward “as a token of our appreciation for your patience” – but it’s only available to fans for a limited time.
How to claim Operation Frequency error compensation
As revealed on both the Marvel Rivals X account and in-game, players will have their accounts credited with 200 units as compensation for the issue.
However, to actually get hold of the Units you’ll need to log in and head into the in-game mail. Most notably, however, you’ll need to do it before March 12, 2025, or the Units will expire.
While there’s plenty of time to do so, fans will want to log in fast to ensure they get the Units and don’t miss out.
Naturally, the post was met with huge celebration and praise for Netease’s clarity and quick action, and of course, the free Units. Most players were commenting “W compensation” and praising the developers for the reward, especially given it happened at night for most players, meaning they “didn’t even realize there was an issue at all I just logged back and got the units.”
While some will undoubtedly keep these Units for a rainy day, others expressed their excitement to get cheaper skins like Malice. Just be sure to claim them soon, so you don’t miss out.
