Marvel Rivals’ new Deadpool leak sparks concern for one key reason

New Marvel Rivals leaks reveal Deadpool is in the works, but players are concerned about his introduction for one key reason.

Marvel Rivals has an evergrowing roster of iconic Marvel heroes to master and battle both with and against. The shooter features characters from all over the comic book world, from Spider-Man and Wolverine to the newly released The Thing and Human Torch.

In saying this, consistent leaks online about Marvel Rivals have revealed which heroes will most likely be added to the game next: The Punisher, Emma Frost, Ultron, and more are all rumored to be playable in the future.

Deadpool, Hit-Monkey, and M.O.D.O.K are the newest characters to be leaked for Marvel Rivals, and the news has garnered a strong online reaction for a specific reason.

Marvel Rivals players worried about who will voice Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds has become synonymous with the character in live-action films, but many have grown accustomed to hearing Nolan North’s voice for the Merc with a Mouth in the video game world.

However, given that North already voices Rocket Racoon in Marvel Rivals, players are “scared” that a different actor could be cast as Deadpool.

“Deadpool better be voiced by Nolan North,” wrote one X (formerly Twitter) user, while another added, “I NEED Deadpool to be played by Nolan North, please!”

North, best known for video game roles such as Nathan Drake in Uncharted and Desmond Miles in Assassin’s Creed, has voiced Deadpool in almost every recent game appearance.

His credits for the role include Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, and the standalone Deadpool game released in 2013.

Deadpool’s popularity as a Marvel character has never been more palpable. The successful Deadpool & Wolverine film finally introduced the character into the MCU and smashed records at the box office.

If Nolan reprises his role as Deadpool in Marvel Rivals, players hope the game doesn’t stop pointing out the similarities between the Merc with a Mouth and Rocket Raccoon.

“They better have a fourth wall-breaking joke about him and Rocket sounding the same,” commented another X user in response to the leaked Deadpool news.
