Popular streamer Ludwig has finally gotten the attention of LA Lakers player Luka Doncic after months of attempting to contact the NBA star.
Ludwig Ahgren is gearing up for his Basketball Jam event on July 12, where he and other top streamers will put their hooping skills to the test in front of thousands of live viewers, both online and in-person.
In an attempt to generate more hype for the competition, Ludwig tried to contact Luka Doncic, a Slovenian basketball player currently signed to the Los Angeles Lakers.
While Doncic’s representatives said he couldn’t attend, Ludwig was left shocked by a video they sent him from Luka, himself.

In mere hours, the 14-second clip has already become a viral meme — mostly due to Luka’s awkward way of explaining why he couldn’t attend and asking to hang out at a later date.
“Hey Ludwig, I know how hard you’ve worked,” Doncic said. “Good luck in your tournament. I wish I could be there. Let’s hang out. Okay, bye.”
Folks across the net are joking that they’ll send the video to their friends when they want to bail on plans, making for a humorous intersection between the worlds of streaming and professional basketball.
What’s even more hilarious, though, is the fact that Ludwig has been attempting to get in touch with Doncic for months now. While he’s spoken out about the player on stream prior, things really kicked off after he posted a viral tweet when Luka was signed to the Lakers in February 2025.
“LMK if you’re trying to chill or whatever,” the streamer wrote, tagging Luka. “I know a bunch of good coffee spots and whatnot.”
What followed was an entire character arc for Ludwig where the streamer continuously shot his shot at the pro, saying in another tweet: “At the Lakers game. Think me and Luka could be boys, lowkey. An energy is forming between us.”
“Me and Luka, if we got into a room together, we would be boys,” Lud said in a Twitch stream in March, jokingly calling them “two quirked up white boys in our mid-twenties.”
While he actually ended up meeting Doncic at the Lakers game he attended in February, he’s continued to try and bring the athlete into his circle — and now, he can officially say that he and Luka are on friendly terms.
