Lighter, Cooler, More Powerful. B&C Speakers Introduces New Products for 2025

Fresh from NAMM 2025 in Anaheim, CA, B&C Speakers will exhibit at ISE 2025 in Barcelona, where it will present its latest innovations, highlighting in particular the latest HLX Series Helical compression drivers DH350 and DH450 now benefiting from purposely designed heatsinks. Also new for the show are two new lightweight, high-power woofers, that are perfect for small format line arrays, expanding the Italian speaker manufacturer’s CL Series.
In 2024, B&C introduced the DH350 and DH450 compression drivers, featuring a new, patented HLX phase plug design (US Patent 12149906). These phase plugs have a central channel that is twisted, like DNA, to add the length required to match the outer channels. This technique works with standard, cost-effective injection mold tooling and plastics by rotating the inner die along a screw profile. The convex dome design, so achieved, has a number of significant cost and performance advantages. This design offers significant benefits including increased active diaphragm area, minimized diameter, lower 1kHz crossover point, lower weight, lower distortion and reduced cost.
For 2025, B&C have taken HLX drivers to the next level incorporating compact, made-to-measure heat sinks for each model in the series. The resulting DH350H and DH450H benefit from significant gains in power handling and long term reliability. Cleverly designed heatsinks allow the drivers to be mounted individually in almost any orientation, or in tight groups where multiple drivers are being applied to a single waveguide.

B&C Chief Marketing Officer Ron Tizzard noted, “The HLX Series drivers have caught the attention of some of the worlds best speaker designers. They appreciate the fact that these unique drivers are small, quite cost effective, and natural sounding. The new heat sink enhanced versions are a welcome addition to the family, expanding the range of applications and eliminating the need for expensive, custom heat management solutions.”
The DH350H and DH450H models with heatsinks will be available in the spring of 2025.
B&C Expands CL Series Woofers
B&C Speakers have expanded their successful CL Series woofer range to include the smaller diameter 6CLA51 and 8CLA64. These new woofers feature copper clad aluminium voice coils for improved bandwidth and clarity. All of the cost effective CL Series models incorporate a compact and cost effective motor design that uses an inside coil, neodymium slug magnet, making them perfect for a wide variety of applications, particularly in small format line array.
“System providers prefer smaller line array modules for coverage and application flexibility. Engineers know the smaller the box the more critical the weight and performance,” notes Bennett Prescott, US Sales Director for B&C Speakers. The CLA series brings larger motors with higher power handling to the lightest woofers available from B&C. Optimized for the demanding midrange sensitivity of two-way designs, the CL Series use the same high power coils and durable soft parts tested the world over in its bigger siblings.

B&C Speakers is one of the largest manufacturers of professional transducers. Founded in 1946, the company now operates out of a nearly 14,000 square meter, state of the art production and R&D facility in Bagno a Ripoli (Florence), Italy. With around 220 employees, B&C Speakers carries out all design, production, marketing and control activities under the Group’s brands at its offices in Florence, Reggio Emilia, Eminence (KY-USA) and DongGuan (CN): B&C, 18Sound, Eminence and CIARE. B&C Speakers also operates in the US and Brazil through two subsidiaries carrying out commercial activities.
The company’s research and development team works continuously to meet the needs of the world’s most demanding OEM loudspeaker brands, particularly in the touring and live performance fields. Offering woofers from 4″ to 21″, coaxials from 4″ to 15″, and compression drivers from 0.5″ to 4″ voice coil diameter, B&C has recently expanded its product range by adding the Coaxial Compression Driver category.
