KSI’s return boxing match against Dillon Danis has been pushed back after the YouTuber came down with an illness unlike anything he says he’s ever experienced.
KSI was slated to make his return to the ring on March 29 in Manchester against former Bellator mixed martial artist Dillon Danis, but now the fight has been postponed with no new date currently set.
Danis and KSI were originally set to face off back in January 2023, but the MMA fighter pulled out just ten days before the bout, leaving the British YouTuber to choose FaZe Temperrr as his replacement.
Now, history is repeating itself… kinda. Misfits says that an update on the fight will be coming with all tickets remaining valid for the next date. Meanwhile, KSI revealed the state of his sickness and it sounds absolutely dreadful.
YouTuber KSI says his body has “given up” preparing for Danis fight
In a video on X, KSI updated fans on his situation, explaining that he hasn’t been able to train or even promote the match because he’s been so ill.
“Me versus Danis, it’s just not going to happen on March 29. I’ve tried my hardest, but my body has legit given up. I’m currently in bed taking antibiotics, trying to recover, but I’m struggling. I’m coughing up greenish, yellow sh*t all the time,” he revealed.
According to KSI, he’s been experiencing headaches every day and despite trying to train, his body just isn’t letting him, with his stamina not close to where he wants it to be.
“I can’t taste right now or smell. Basically, I’m f**ked,” he admitted, noting that this has been going on for almost three full weeks. “It’s just not gotten better. My doctor has come around to decipher what is going on, and honestly, I’ve never been this ill for this long in my life. I feel useless and it’s depressing.”
KSI says that he still wants to KO Dillon Danis, but in his current condition, he’s not in the right shape. Furthermore, he apologized to the fans and Misfits for needing to postpone.
Dillon Danis mocks KSI for postponing boxing match
Danis was quick to mock KSI for his decision, pulling up an old tweet of the YouTuber claiming he doesn’t pull out of fights.
“This aged well,” Danis mocked.
“I haven’t pulled out you cretin. It’s postponed. Your punishment is just getting delayed,” KSI snapped back.
Not to be outdone, Danis had another response: “Olajide, you pulled out. Ended the whole event. Little league baseball games get postponed, not multi-million dollar fight cards.”
In any case, we’ll have to see what date the bout gets rescheduled for and if KSI can overcome this illness and fulfill his goal of landing a KO on the fighter.
