Klippel Three-Day Lecture 2025 Focused on Sound Quality of Audio Systems – Modeling, Measurement & Control

The increasingly popular, annual three-day lecture event by Wolfgang Klippel returns in March 17-19, 2025. Taking place once again at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, this is a valuable opportunity to hear Dr. Wolfgang Klippel, professor at the Institute of Acoustics and Speech Communication, providing deep insights into measurement and diagnostic techniques used in loudspeaker design.
The 2025 lecture on “Sound Quality of Audio Systems” is presented by Dr. Wolfgang Klippel, and offers a deep understanding of measurement and diagnostic techniques used in telecommunication, automotive, multimedia, and professional applications. The three-day event combines both theory and practice, and is also a unique opportunity to get the latest information about the activities at Klippel GmbH, reflecting over 30 years of fundamental research by the company, and allowing participants to improve their designs and optimize manufacturing processes.
According to Klippel, the presented content is highly recommended for students, and anyone in the audio industry active in research and development, manufacturing, or quality control. “Linear, nonlinear, and time-variant systems with lumped and distributed parameters model the generation of signal distortion. The course makes the relationship between symptoms and physical causes of the distortion more transparent,” Wolfgang Klippel explains.
The lecture is divided into Electro-Acoustical Modeling, Measurement and Analysis, Interpretation and Diagnostics, and Digital Loudspeaker Control topics. During the event, Klippel’s experienced development engineers will also present practical sections to deepen participants’ understanding of electroacoustic measurements on Klippel devices and illustrate theory with industry examples.

On March 17, participants will be invited to join the popular house party at Klippel headquarters, where the company also organizes an in-house exhibition with technical demonstrations, and there’s ample room for discussions. “The Klippel House Party is a great opportunity for further networking and knowledge exchange for the conference attendees,” Benjamin Barth, Klippel General Manager, explains.
Among the key topics that will be presented in the 2025 event, participants will learn about the IEC standard 60268-23 for testing large loudspeakers (panel, arrays, TV, monitors, etc.); rating max SPL according to IEC standard 60268-21; testing transducers with small baffles on the Klippel Multi Scanning Workbench; or measuring the nonlinear residuum in reproduced music signals.
Registration for the lecture is now open for a fee for general admission and is free for students. More content and registration details are available on the Klippel website.
