KFC reveals Gundam fried chicken bucket in wild anime collab

KFC has teamed up with Gundam Wing for one of its most outlandish crossovers yet, unveiling a special anime-themed fried chicken bucket complete with a Gundam mech perched on top.

The collab celebrates the iconic Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, a 1995 anime that helped popularize the Gundam franchise worldwide. Known for its high-stakes political drama, intense space battles, and charismatic pilots, Gundam Wing has remained a fan favorite for nearly three decades.

The series follows five teenage pilots, each with a custom-built mobile suit, fighting in a war between Earth and its space colonies.

On July 3, KFC Hong Kong launched the limited-time promotion. Diners who order one of two specially priced combo meals (HKD$139 or around $18 USD) receive two random stickers featuring Gundam Wing pilots and their mobile suits. The meals themselves are built for two, with double portions of fried chicken, sandwiches, sides, and drinks, making it a clear nudge toward group orders.

Gundam Wing x KFC collab comes with sweet merch

The real standout with this collab is the exclusive merch. The centerpiece item is the KFC Gundam fried chicken bucket, which features a detailed Gundam mounted on the lid like a trophy. However, the bucket isn’t bundled for free. It’s available only to those spending at least HKD$49 (around $6 USD) on food or drink, and willing to pay extra for the collectibles.

The KFC x Gundam Wing collab has some sweet items.

Other items in the Gundam x KFC lineup include acrylic standees of the characters, branded lanyards, coffee mugs, and even a themed wireless charging pad.

The campaign is already making waves across anime communities online, but there’s no word yet if this collab will be coming to other countries in the future.

KFC isn’t the only Gundam collab to make waves this year. Gundam Wing also collaborated with Overwatch 2 to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary with special skins.
