Kevin Hart demanded Kai Cenat be allowed to stream at BET Awards or he wouldn’t host

Kevin Hart told Kai Cenat that he demanded the Twitch star be allowed to stream the BET Awards freely or he wouldn’t have hosted.
As Kai Cenat has risen up to become one of the biggest streamers on the internet, the AMP star has linked up with a number of different celebrities. John Cena, Ice Spice, and Drake have all appeared on his stream at some point.
Yet, Kevin Hart and Druski have become regular collaborators with Kai. The pair have slept over at his house and even joined him for Thanksgiving dinner. If Kai has some big plans, its safe to assume that they won’t be far behind.
That was on full display again during the 2025 BET Awards. Hart was picked to host the event, but Kai was on stage, handing out awards, and mingling with everyone backstage – including Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
Kevin Hart wouldn’t host BET Awards without Kai Cenat
At several points, the trio came together to reflect on the night, with them reflecting on how far they’d come since their first stream together. That led to Hart revealing some of the demands he’d made to get Kai there.
“You’ve operated on a streaming level and we’re merging the gap between streamer and stardom. We’re showing why streamers can be, and should be, deemed to be the next,” the actor and comedian said.
“I’m acting as your f**king bridge. Don’t go out here and f*ck it up! Kai, do y’all know what I pulled to get y’all to do this? I literally said I’m not hosting if Kai can not come back and stream.”
As noted, as well as getting on stage to host an award, Kai was given the run of the place backstage. That saw him bump into Wale, who was playing Smash Bros on his Nintendo Switch.
The rapper approached Kai a while later, joking that the streamer had completely forgotten who he was and that their initial interaction had gone viral.
