Johnny Somali facing more serious charges in South Korea after streaming return

Streamer Johnny Somali could face further serious charges in South Korea after following two IRL streamers during his own return to streaming.

Towards the end of 2024, Johnny Somali – real name Ramsey Khalid Ismael – headed to South Korea after a number of chaotic streams in Israel and Japan. Since then, the banned KICK streamer has been stuck in Korea.

In mid-November, Ismael was charged with obstruction of business after a chaotic stream inside a 7-Eleven store. He also caused backlash for delaying public transport by breaking rules about playing music, playing North Korean propaganda in public, and kissing a Statue of Peace.

Somali’s long-awaited trial got underway at the start of March and the streamer pleaded guilty to the current charges. Further charges have also been leaked by legal experts and he may have also secured additional charges since returning to streaming too.

Johnny Somali could have more charges in South Korea

According to Legal Mindset, Ismael could be looking at charges of disruption, obstruction, and loss of business from a hookah bar that he followed streamers Slightly Homeless and Nana into.

It comes after the streamer knocked a drink over while trying to talk to the other content creators. After some shouting, Slightly Homeless informed the bar staff that Somali had been ‘stalking’ them and wanted to get the police involved.

“This guy is actually a stalker. Can you call the police?” the streamer said after asking for the bill so that they could leave and get away from Ismael. “He came here so he could harass us.”

As per Legal Mindset, Somali could face charges of stalking and harassment for following the streamers and touching them.

He also showed an image of Slightly Homeless filing a police report against the streamer. The legal expert noted that if it was “staged” as some predicted, they would also be in trouble and on the hook financially for wasting police time.

This is also in addition to another charge of disrupting the business of a convenience store, something that Ismael is already facing in his original charges.
